AURABELLA STARED AT HER FATHER ANGRILY as he walked inside Stefan's room. Stefan pulled his niece back as Damon played around with his stuff, "Crows a bit much, don't you think?""Wait till you see what I can do with the fog." Damon smirked.
"When did you get here?" Stefan asked his brother, narrowing his eyes.
"Well, I couldn't miss you or my daughter's first day of school." Damon smirked, walking over to Stefan's bookcase.
"Your hairs different. I like it, both." Damon complimented, his eyes switching from his daughter to his brother.
"Well your hair is greasy and disgusting." Aurabella snapped, crossing her arms.
"It's been 15 years, Damon." Stefan said as Damon ignored his daughter's comment.
"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the '90s." Damon groaned, "That horrible grunge look... did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads."
"Why are you here?" Stefan spoke sternly as Damon walked around the room.
"I missed my little brother." Damon shrugged before looking at his daughter, "And my daughter."
"You hate small towns." Aurabella snapped, "It's boring. There's nothing for you to do."
"I've managed to keep myself busy." Damon smirked slightly.
"You know, you left that girl alive tonight." Aurabella started, "That's very clumsy of you."
Damon sighed, "Ah... that's could be a problem... for you two."
"Aurabella, go to your room. I need to have a word with your father." Stefan told his niece, not even glancing at her.
"Uncle Stefan, I'm not a child-"
"Go." Stefan said sternly and Aurabella groaned, walking out but not without sending her father dirty looks in the process.
Aurabella spent most the night reading one of her books, trying to ignore the loud crashes that Stefan and Damon made.
Later that night, when Aurabella was asleep, Damon quietly walked into her room. He sat in the side of her bed, brushing hair out of her face.
"I've missed you... my little girl." Damon whispered, watching her relaxed features before pressing a light and sweet kiss on her forehead.
He looked sad, guilty almost before he walked out, giving one last glance to his daughter before leaving her to peacefully sleep.
