five days had passed since heeseung became my bodyguard and to say he did his job well was an understatement. he never left my side, no matter how much i insisted and said it was for my 'safety.'

"your mum won't be happy when she finds out," he explained when i told him to stop following me everywhere.

"do you need glasses or something? she's not even here! how would she know? we could just lie or something," i retorted. i wanted to catch up with jungwon and sunoo in private, thank you very much.

"i don't want to lie to your mum. she's so nice."

i groaned in frustration. "i wanna go hang out with my friends right now."

"aren't i your friend?" he pouted. he was getting a little too comfortable with me. it hasn't even been a week into our friendship and he was acting like a big baby.

"i love your friends and all and i love talking to you guys but i have some business to attend."

"okay, fine. but you better make it quick because someone might find you guys an easy target. except jungwon maybe; he's pretty good." he handed me a small bat which left me confused.

"where did you pull that out of? your ass? why did you randomly bring a bat to school?"

he rolled his eyes. "this is serious. you never know what's coming. we don't want you getting sent to hospital again," he patted my head and i slapped his hand away, annoyed.

"you're acting like i'm about to die. this is gonna take like ten minutes max," i assured him. "plus my bullies aren't even here so i'll be fine."

"okay... text or call my number immediately if anything happens."

"yeah yeah, whatever." i walked off and muttered under my breath. "jeez, he's worse than my mum."

i caught up to jungwon and sunoo who were having a conversation outside the school building. "hey guys! sorry i'm late, heeseung was being annoying."

sunoo raised an eyebrow. "more like he's being overprotective over you."

"right?" jungwon agreed. "i don't think being a bodyguard makes you that close to someone this quick. it's been a week and he's clinging to you like a big baby."

"it's been a rough five days but at least we're kinda popular now?" i wasn't even sure what we were anymore since people were spreading the most random rumours.

"i hope not... i only agreed to this because of jay."

sunoo eyed him. "has jay even talked to you yet?"

"he has actually!" jungwon countered. "anyways, let's not get distracted. we have thirty minutes until lunch ends. let's find the guy."

i nodded in determination. "come on sunoo, let's get your man." we dragged him along.

"this better be worth my time," he whined.
