we walked to the front desk and showed the lady at the counter our tickets and then proceeded to board the boat. i was so excited - the last time i had fished was about five years ago with my family and i hardly remembered anything.

the worker handed each of us a fishing rod. i eagerly bounced up and down whilst the boat swayed on the waves. we set out to a further spot so that there was more fish.

i snapped a few pictures of the view on my phone. i quickly took a picture of my friends too. they were all chatting cheerfully; everyone was in a lively mood.

"we're here," the driver called out and the boat stilled, rocking on the calm waters. i jumped up first and casted the fishing rod over and peered over the edge.

we were all standing by the side, trying desperately to catch one to no avail until sunghoon suddenly screamed.

"i got one! i got one!"

everyone ran over with anticipation and stared at the fish which was dangling on the rod. sunghoon looked so proud when it was placed in the bucket. we congratulated him and went back to work.

at the one hour point, everyone was worn out. sunghoon and heeseung were the only ones who managed to catch one. we moved destinations for the fifth time so this was our last. i squeezed my eyes shut and prayed that i'd capture at least one fish by the end of today.

at our new spot, it took roughly half an hour for everyone to catch one. i was the only one who had no luck but still, i continued trying with determination written on my face.

my frustrated expression must've shown because heeseung approached me. the rest of the group were lying on the seats, exhausted. they were all waiting for me and i almost felt bad.

"you need help?" heeseung asked.

"no, i got this," i grumbled in annoyance. i didn't have this but he didn't need to know. if i asked for his help, that would defeat the whole point of me completing this successfully.

"helping you doesn't mean i'm gonna do it for you," he said as if he had read my mind.

"it's fine. just give me ten minutes."

he chuckled lowly. "you're stubborn, you know that?" then i felt him behind me, wrapping his arm around my waist. i jerked back in surprise and lost my footing but he caught me.

"what do you think you're doing?" i grunted as i stumbled.

"what does it look like?" he replied. "i'm assisting you." i blushed, feeling his warm breath on my neck. it sent tingles all over me but i ignored it.

heeseung guided me to the left with his hand on mine, moving it to adjust the rod. "when you wanna catch a fish, you have to be patient and let them take the bait."

i nodded, with my head brushing on his chest. why was he so close to me? my thoughts were cut short when i felt something weighing the line down. i jumped in excitement.

"heeseung hyung! i feel it!" i exclaimed.

"quickly, quickly!" he urged me on.

i lifted up to see a huge fish on it; i almost cried in relief and triumph. now i wouldn't be the odd one out who didn't catch anything. we plopped the trout into the bucket with the others.

"thank you, hyung," i said gratefully, giving him the biggest smile i could muster.

his eyes twinkled. "of course."
