The silence of the car fuels the tension

The silence of the car fuels the tension.

I don't dare look at him, instead closing my eyes and readying myself for the inevitable rejection.

"I'm going to be a dad?" his voice comes out small and emotional.

I open my eyes to see he has stopped the car in a lay-by.

I turn to him shocked, my own eyes widening when I see the tears in his own.

"Ummm," I stumble over my words, confused by his reaction.

"Oh my god, I'm gonna be a father... well daddy is definitely out of the question because I'm already one," he laughs as a tear falls down his cheek.

I furrow my eyebrows as I stare at them, my mouth open.

"What?" he frowns at me, the happiness feigning in his expression.

"I-I just... I didn't expect you to be happy about it," I say, feeling stupid even saying the words now.

He reaches across and cups my cheek, the warmth of his large hand calming me instantly.

"Spitfire, you have no idea how happy this makes me. You're going to make me a papà," he smiles wider than I've ever seen, his dimples on full display.

"I-I- we never discussed kids," I stutter, still not comprehending the situation.

"Baby, we all want kids. You don't need to worry about their reactions," he says, seeming to read my thoughts.

I nod my head, swallowing the lump in my throat. He pulls me in for a passionate kiss, our tears merging together.

When he releases me, he starts the car up again.

We decide to run to the nearest shop and pick out a baby grow to help reveal the news to the guys.

I choose a white baby onesie with small stars embroidered around it and 'Hello World' stitched in on the torso.

I cry at the sight of it and Dawson has to hug me in the baby clothes isle until I calm down.

By the time we reach the house, my nerves have set in again and I chew at my bottom lip anxiously.

I see their cars in the drive, meaning they are definitely home.

Dawson stands behind me as we walk in, giving me no way to run away.

"It'll be fine," he kisses my forehead and hands me the shopping bag. We walk into the living room and I chuckle nervously when I see Andros and Theo arguing about something whilst Atlas reads a book in the corner armchair.

"Guys, Hazel has something to say," Dawson attracts their attention, the sound of his voice making me jump. He fails to hide the excitement and the other guys are staring at us curiously.
