The call was short. I told Hayden to pick me up in his car and I had something to tell him. I packed my suitcase my toiletries and the clothes I needed for the next few days. I changed into the dress I wore whenever I met Hayden, I wore black ankle boots to match.
I just needed to get the fuck out of there. Before closing my suitcase I grabbed the personalized vinyl she got me for graduation that has my favorite song and a picture of us a year before the accident. Just then my phone chimed.
I'm here. :)
I ran downstairs and wiped my tears. When I went outside, Hayden was leaning against the car in blue denim skinny jeans, a black tee, and a black leather jacket. He has his white sneakers. He looks at me, a concerned look on his face. "How'd it go?"
I sighed, sitting on the front of the car. I felt the weight of the conversation with my dad still hanging over me. "It was awful. My dad was very mean and didn't approve so I told them I'd start packing as soon as possible." I said. "That's why I have a suitcase. Clothes for the next days and toiletries."
Hayden pulled me into him, holding me close. I wrapped my legs around his waist. He cleared his throat deeply. "I—I'm sorry Lily. I know that must have been hard."
I nodded against his chest, feeling his warmth soothe my nerves. "It was, but I'm not going to let it change my mind." I sighed. "Now, my prince, take me away to our castle."
He laughed. "Yes, princess." He said, kissing my forehead.
Over the next few days, Hayden and I began the process of moving my things into his house. Despite the tension of my dad, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. This was a new chapter in my life, and I was ready to embrace it.
Myles and Annalise helped and supported us throughout the process. They helped me pack and Hayden and Annalise reassured me when I was overwhelmed and made sure I knew I was making the right choice. Hayden's house quickly began to feel like a home. Our home.
When I got fully moved in I made a made a dinner to celebrate. After Hayden got back home he put his bag down and embraced me in a tight hug.
"Mm, something sure smells good." He said.
"I made dinner. I thought you would be hungry—"
Before I could finish Hayden took my hand and looked at me. "I have a homewarming gift." He said.
He led me out of the house and I welcomed him with a white sleek, shiny motorcycle with a beautiful black leather jumpsuit and white helmet. I was speechless. I looked at Hayden. "I—I—what? How?"
"So you can get around and we can bike together." He said gently.
"And the jumpsuit?" I asked, smiling.
"So you can look sexy as fuck biking."
I laughed. "I don't even know how to ride."
"That's where I come in. I'll teach you."
I looked at him softly. "Wow. You thought of everything." I said softly. "Let's start right now!" I said jumping on the motorcycle.
"What about dinner?" Hayden asked, chuckling.
"Fuck dinner. We can warm it up." I put my new helmet on and Hayen taught me the basics of biking. We started in the neighborhood, with him explaining everything step by step. By the end of the lesson, I was feeling more confident, I could tell he was proud of me.
