All was silent.

"Excuse me?"

Pai spat, his eyes narrowed.

Fēng was still silent, his eyes calculating.

"Fuck does that mean? We passed the test, just like you did. If this is such a big matter that you feel like you must draw a sword-"

Pai was cut off, Aurelius grabbing Fēng's collar and staring him down.

"You.Don't.Belong."

He hissed, his eyes feral.

Fēng mumbled something, Aurelius' eyes snapping onto him.

"Say that again."

He demanded, pulling the other closer.

"The Golden God's Death."

Fēng hissed, dropping his sword.

Pai just stared at Fēng in shock, processing.

"..How do you know that?"

He whispered, getting shot a fond look by Fēng and an incredulous look from Aurelius.

"You didn't?"

Aurelius sighed, dropping Fēng.

He wiped his shoulders, scowling.

"You are both so out of character, it hurts. Definitely not what I wrote."

He scoffed, rubbing his forehead.

"You wrote it?"

"You wrote it."

Pai and Fēng both blurted, one amazed and the other...well..

Aurelius looked at Pai, an eyebrow raised.

"Oh? Do we have a problem to be solved?"

He mumbled, holding out a hand.

"Yeah, your work was ass."

Pai stated bluntly, standing up.

Fēng quickly stood between them, shaking his head.

"Forgive my friend, he didn't like reading that stuff in the other world."

Fēng laughed sheepishly, trying to keep the peace.

Pai's eyes narrowed as he grabbed Fēng's arm.

"How do you know that, Fēng?"

He hissed, raising an eyebrow.

"The same way I know that you hate caramel. That you love playing the violin. That you can't bake for shit but can cook the best meals. The same way I know that you probably regret not walking me home that night."

Fēng hummed, focused on Pai as if he was the only one in the room.

Pai froze, feeling like his whole world shattered.
