When Aurelius first woke up in a 5 year old's body, s̶h̶e̶ ran for a pen.

When he found the pen, he got straight to work.

'Stuck in your own novel.'

He grumbled to himself, sighing.

Well, at least the character he got to be was kinda important.

Princess Aurelius of the Hyacinth Kingdom.

The same princess with a one-sided rivalry with Niski, the 'sunshine' prince.

Niski, the same prince who passed Aurelius in the empty hall, his eyes empty.

'Ah.'

Aurelius nearly forgot that plot point.

The experimentation.

Niski was used as a 'vessel' by the king of the Sun Kingdom.

The king used his body as a way to try to...'gain' back some kind of blessing.

It ultimately failed.

It left Niski traumatized. Unhappy...all of that jazz.

"Hey."

Aurelius grumbled, reaching out and grabbing Niski's arm.

Niski's eyes widened, staring at the bandages wrapped tightly around his skin.

"Aurelius."

He mumbled, puffing out his cheeks.

Was it pure impulse and a cheap ploy?

Perhaps.

Did Niski fall for it?

Yes.

"..Niski. But you know that. So why..?"

He mumbled, keeping his eyes on the ground.

Aurelius frowned, wanting to see that face that he had spent so long writing about.

When he didn't hear any alarm bells, he shrugged, crossing his arms.

"I want to play with you. You can accept or deny my request, but I suppose your denial would make me upset."

He sighed, words too complicated for a simple five year old.

"Hm...If father allows."

Niski hesitantly nodded, letting Aurelius pull him into the meeting room where their parents had gathered.
