"Hey, wake up. Come on.."

Pai grunted, feeling himself being shaken.

"Unhand me."

He grumbled, opening his eyes.

"But Paii.."

The voice - Fēng - whined, shaking him more.

Pai sat up, realizing that he was  no longer in the carriage.

"We're gonna miss the first class! You already missed the speech."

Fēng whined, shaking his head.

"I didn't think  the spell was that strong. Sorry, prince!"

Pai just sent him a glare, sitting up.

Fēng sheepishly grinned, continuing.

"You little.."

Pai started, being cut off by a loud voice.

"Ah, if it isn't Little Pai! You're still little!"

The voice laughed.

Pai felt his eye twitch.

"Hah..? And who are you?"

Pai questioned, slowly turning his head.

His eyes landed on the newcomer, unamused.

A tall male with dark hair stood in the door, a sneer on his face.

"It hasn't been that long! Don't tell me you forgot me?"

He pouted, throwing his low ponytail over his shoulder.

"It's Noluna, and don't you forget it again!"

He barked, pointing at Pai bitterly.

"Why are you here? I assumed Fēng was my roommate."

Fēng turned his head, suddenly very interested in the wall.

"Royals share with royals,  while nobles and commoners share! This is common knowledge."

Noluna crossed his arms, staring at Pai.

"..Fēng, you never mentioned that."

Pai hummed, not as angry as Fēng thought he'd be.

"Fēng, after class, we will see about switching rooms. Let's head off."

They walked off, ignoring Noluna's enraged sputtering.

"Hello, class!"

A woman in sparkly pink robes appeared, a scroll in one hand while she waved the other around wildly.

The class just stared in silence, clearly dampening her cheery mood.

"..Well, you all may call me Ms. Xihua! I'm a royal mage from the Sun Kingdom, and I hope we'll have a good four years together!"

She chirped, waving the scroll around.

When the class stayed silent again, she sighed.

"Alright. Each of you will get a scroll. This scroll will give you your magical affinity and magical class. Do you all understand?"

The class let out a dull,

"Yes Ma'am."

The woman huffed, and suddenly scrolls were appearing in front of everyone.

"If you're all so tough, just focus your mana on the scrolls and open them after, goddamnit!"

She hissed, stomping and sitting behind her desk.
