"Pai, you must try this!" Niski giggled, holding out a fork with a cheesy mess attached to its end.

Pai simply grumbled, wiping his hands as he glared at Niski out of the corner of his eyes.

"Niski, you eat it with your hands." Pai grabbed a slice for himself, showing the blond how to eat the food.

Niski's eyes widened as they watched, their own hair tied up so that Pai could teach them the dishes that he did know how to make from his own world.

"And remind me, how did you acquire the knowledge needed to make such a messy dish?" Niski questioned, poking the burnt crust of one of their previous attempts.

Only Pai was any good at cooking. Niski tried to cook the pizzas faster by using magic, but they were good enough to make one pizza.

'May I remind User that this is your 39th batch?' Pai silently mocked the system, rolling his eyes.

'Hatsune Miku reference?' Pai decided to focus on helping Niski clean their mess, mumbling quietly to himself.

"You have yet to answer my question." Niski grumbled, wiping down the mess of flour, desperately scrubbing so that Aurelius wouldn't have to find the mess they had made.

Pai shrugged, chewing his thumb as he silently debated on what to do with the burnt attempts and the smell. "I read it from a book." He settled, still debating.

"Ah, I'll burn those in a minute. Now, do you think Aurelius would like this dish?" Niski wondered out loud, finally getting up all of the flour.

'That guy seems like the cheap author to eat nothing but cup noodles.' Pai internally sighed, nodding his head.

"I think that dork would enjoy the pizza." Pai mumbled, tossing the pizzas at Niski so they could burn them.

Niski swiftly burnt the pizzas to ash, throwing the ash out of the window.

"What about the smell!?" Niski fretted, waving a towel around.

Pai looked at them, unamused. "We could lie." He hummed, tossing Niski the last pizza.

Niski frowned, believing the 'Honesty is key' bullshit.

Niski sighed, their shoulders slumped, "...Alright."

Pai was surprised to get such an easy agreement, quickly recovering. "Alright. If that's all, I'll get back to my dorm."

Niski reached out to the other, clearly hesitating in what they wanted to say.

Pai waited patiently, already used to this game.

"I just..Why are you avoiding Fēng?" Niski softly questioned, their reasoning for inviting Pai into their dorm clearly having been to ask this question.

Pai, expecting this, pretended not to hear the question. "Well, thank you for this fun time, Niski. I'll see you in the next meeting."

They each bowed their heads to each other, Niski to hide their disappointment and Pai to hide his amusement at the situation.

'Seriously, why couldn't these NPCs mind their business?'

As Pai walked back to his dorm, he mentally checked off the boxes in his head.
