*Addi's POV*

"You are our mate."

I sat in my spot, frozen with my mind racing as I processed the revelation that I was the mate to the three Volturi Kings. Shock washed over me, mingling with disbelief and confusion, as though the very foundation of reality had shifted beneath my feet. "I-I'm your mate?" I stammered. The weight of the word hung in the air, heavy with implications I could scarcely grasp. "Yes, Addi. You are our soulmate, the one we have been destined to find." Aro replied, with Marcus and Caius nodding in agreement, with their expressions serious yet soft. It was a truth that resonated deeply within them, a bond forged through fate and circumstance.

I glanced at the Cullens, searching for reassurance. They looked supportive, but also aware of the gravity of the situation. "I've only just met you all. How can you know something like that?" I asked, shaking a bit. Marcus spoke, gently, "Sometimes, these connections reveal themselves in ways we cannot fully explain. It's a feeling, a recognition of something deeper. And it is not something to be taken lightly. We understand this may come as a shock, Addi, but it's a reality we cannot ignore."

"But I'm human and I know the Volturi law is clear about keeping your existence secret from humans. How can this work? How can I be your mate when I'm just...me?" I protested, shaking my head as if to dispel the notion, while my heart raced with the implications of my humanity, with each beat echoing my fear of the dangers that might come with being intertwined with such powerful beings. Caius leaned forward, with his expression contemplative. "It is true that our law exists to protect our kind, but you are not just any human, Addi. You are special to us. Your bond with us transcends the usual boundaries. We have no intention of putting you in danger." He said, firmly yet kind.

Absorbing the gravity of the moment, I looked around at the faces that surrounded me. The Cullens, with their unwavering support, and the Kings, with their ancient wisdom and unexpected affection. My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, still struggling to wrap my head around the reality of what the Kings had just revealed. "You can't be serious. You're all joking, right? This can't be true." I said, with my voice edged with disbelief. I glanced desperately at Carlisle, hoping to find some semblance of reassurance in his expression, a sign that this was all just a misunderstanding or a cruel prank.

Carlisle met my gaze firmly, with his golden brown eyes soft yet resolute. "Addi, they are telling the truth. What you're feeling is real and it's significant. The bond they speak of is not something to be taken lightly." He said gently, his voice steady and filled with conviction.

He paused for a moment before continuing, "Do you remember that tugging feeling you experienced in your heart the other day?" I nodded slowly, with the memory flooding back to me. It was an inexplicable sensation that had washed over me that day in his office when I was observing the painting of the Kings. I even recalled on the same yet more intense tugging feeling I had earlier before I went on stage at the concert. "That sensation was actually a sign of the bond developing between you and the Kings. It wasn't the stress you thought it was. Instead, it signified that you were establishing a connection with them. You were merely attuned to it." Carlisle explained.

The revelation sent a shiver down my spine and I felt a strange mix of fear and wonder at the thought of something so powerful existing within me. As I reflected on that day and earlier at the concert, the pieces of the puzzle began to align in my mind. It made total sense—the way my heart had pulled towards the Kings, the inexplicable draw I felt, it was almost as if I had been tethered to them by an invisible string. The realization struck me like a lightning bolt, illuminating the shadows of confusion that had clouded my thoughts.

"How did you know what it was, Carlisle? How could you recognize that feeling?" I asked, with my eyebrows furrowing, curiously. The questions hung in the air as I sought the answers that would help me navigate this new and bewildering reality. I needed to understand not only the bond, but also how Carlisle, who had always acted as not only as my protector and guide, but also my newfound father figure, had come to comprehend something so intricate and profound about my existence.
