*Third Person's POV*
The Kings and the Cullens reached the second floor and hurried down the hallway toward the source of the commotion—the bathroom. As they approached, the scene that unfolded before them was both unexpected and chaotic. It shifted from concern to confusion the moment they reached the bathroom as they were greeted with a scene that was far from what they had anticipated.
Addi stood there, her bathrobe slightly askew and her hair damp, still dripping water onto the tiled floor. She was fiercely swinging a hand towel, not in jest but with clear frustration, aiming and hitting it at Alec and Demetri, who were caught off guard by her unexpected aggression as they were shielding themselves with their arms from the towel hits. Jane and Felix were outside the bathroom as they both watched. "Get out! I mean it! All of you!" Addi shouted, her voice a blend of annoyance and disbelief. The intensity in her eyes made it clear that she was not amused, nor was she playing around. This was no lighthearted moment; her discomfort was palpable and the atmosphere was charged with her irritation.
Carlisle stepped forward, his brow furrowed with concern as he assessed the situation. "What's going on here?" He asked, as his voice was steady yet laced with worry. It was evident that something had gone awry. Addi's expression was stormy as she glared at the Guard, particularly Alec and Demetri, with her frustration boiling over. "I was taking a shower and I saw the shadows of those two from behind the curtain while I was in there! It scared me half to death!" She exclaimed, with her voice rising slightly, as she dropped the towel and put her hands on her hips, clearly annoyed at the invasion of her privacy.
Alec, trying to maintain a sense of seriousness despite the situation, offered a defensive response. "We were just doing what we were told to do. We thought you could use some help." He said, while his voice was calm, but the tension was evident in the way he shifted his weight from foot to foot. Demetri stood beside him, equally sober, his expression reflecting concern rather than humor. Jane, observing the rising tension, attempted to diffuse the situation by explaining, "Our masters—the Kings—had tasked us to assist you. We thought it would be helpful to bring your clothes and ensure everything was ready for you." However, her explanation did little to ease Addi's frustration. The Kings exchanged glances, realizing that their intentions had misfired.
Addi's eyes wide with disbelief as she turned to Aro, Marcus, and Caius. "You mean to tell me it was your idea to have the Guard help me with my showering?" She demanded, with her voice a mix of anger and embarrassment as she glared at the three. Aro raised his hands in a placating gesture, trying to explain, "We only wanted to help you, Addi. I did tell the Guard to maintain your privacy." But his words only seemed to fuel her frustration. Caius chimed in, his expression serious, "A future Volturi Queen should always have assistance, even during something as mundane as showering." Marcus, on the other hand, rolled his eyes at his brothers' explanations, knowing that it was making the situation worse.
The tension in the bathroom escalated as Addi was having none of it. "I don't need help with my showering! It's the 21st Century! I don't need any assistance with my showering or anything else! I can handle myself just fine!" She exclaimed, her voice firm and laced with irritation. Her frustration was palpable, and it was clear that she felt more violated than assisted. The notion of having someone—let alone the Guard—hovering around while she was in such a vulnerable state was completely unacceptable to her.
As the atmosphere thickened with discomfort, Emmett, ever the jokester, tried to lighten the mood. "Well, if any of them saw you, at least it'll give them something to talk about." He said, chuckling a bit, a playful grin on his face, with Rosalie glaring at him. However, his attempt at humor fell flat, as Addi groaned in frustration, with her cheeks flushing with embarrassment at the thought. Without another word, she swung the bathroom door shut with a decisive slam, the sound echoing in the hallway, leaving the Kings and the rest of the Cullens standing in stunned silence. Aro, Marcus, and Caius exchanged glances, with their expressions shifting from concern to guilt as they processed the impact of what had just transpired.
