In this society, neither girls and guys are allowed to hold hands or a little bit intimate because they would be seen as part of lgbt. And the society hates it.

So, what happens to those who feel like 'that' inside?

Most of the time, they just keep those emotions inside. They know it actually hurts, but way better than being a menace to society. A few of them go into relationship, but couldn't open up about that and like they were playing hide & seek.

It was never ever a great experience.

As friends, Yeonjun and Kai were not so close. Most of the time Yeonjun would hang out with Taehyun, and Kai with Soobin.

But they ended up being in the same company. Yeonjun as a manager and other as an employer.
Manager wasn't supposed to visit the office regularly, but Yeonjun did. Because after university, all the friends of his went to different destination and Yeonjun was left alone. Well, only he knew Kai, but they were not close. But wouldn't it be comfortable to be around someone known? He didn't have a family to stay with and manger's work was most of the time off, so he did visit a lot.

He would talk to Kai more than usual other times, and most of the time "how're you doing","let me help with your work" etc.
"Yeonjun hyung. You can stay at your home. You don't have to come that much." Kai said often.
"That's fine. It's not like I'm only meeting you, I'm meeting with others too."

Although Kai said that Yeonjun staying at home would be okay, but he also wanted to see him, because at this unknown place, he had a few connection and none were as long lasting as Yeonjun in comparison.

The company would be celebrating their 50 years that year. It was about to happen in one month.

"What's the planning, Bangchan? Did you invite the artists already?" Yeonjun asked the boss.
"Yes, sir. We have prepared a big auditorium and...." He continued.

Yeonjun didn't much pay attention to his words. After Bangchan finished, he only replied,"Ok."

Then he went to Kai.
"What do you think about upcoming event?" He asked him.
"Not so interested." Kai replied. "Do I really have to attend this ceremony?"
"As the office rules say, you know, yes."

Although Kai and Yeonjun wanted to see each other often, because they were friends and the only comfort place so far to each other, but at the same time, they didn't want to see each other. And recently, even though they tried to talk with each other normally, it wasn't happening. Felt like some damn pressure was between them and they couldn't pull it off.

They were not distant. They were just becoming..... uncomfortable day by day.

Before the ceremony, Kai took a one day off and went to meet Soobin.
"Soobin hyung, would you mind if I say something weird?" Kai hesitantly said. They were meeting in a restaurant.
"Yesh? Whash dat?" Soobin asked as he was putting different dishes in his mouth continuously.
"I feel weird ..... around Yeonjun hyung." Kai gulped.
"What?" Soobin swallowed the food fast.
"Does he behave bad?"
"N-no! Not at all! He is a very nice man. It's just..." Kai turned his head down.
"Leave it. Might be my overthinking."
"Say it, Kai-ah. We're best friends and you can't keep secrets."

Kai looked directly into Soobin's eyes for a while.
"I like him. And seems like recently my love is no longer friendly."
"So gay~~~" Soobin almost sang the words. He looked a bit shocked ar the same time though.
"What, aren't you surprised? Don't you now hate me because I'm being unreasonably wrong?" Kai asked.
"Come on, Kai. Yes I'm shocked, but no way I'm going to hate you just because of this. We people have somedays so stupid thoughts, it's great as long as it's not an action. You can like him secretly."
"But there's somewhat invisible pressure between us, I'm pretty sure Yeonjun hyung feels it too. So, are you saying that I should put my emotions aside? I'm trying, maybe I should try harder."

Soobin thought for a while.
"Kai-ah, you may struggle with it, but you still have to control yourself. You have to control your emotions too. And truth be told, it's the best if you openly talk about him. It might fix things.

The night was full of luxurious people aka employees here and there. Kai was simply gorgeous as always.

Funny how he saw drunk people kissing even high positioned ladies and gays are not to expose or go into action? Kissing even unknown girls ain't a problem, drinking alcohol ain't a problem, but loving someone your gender is that of a problem?

Kai tried to slide his thoughts.
"It's not normal Kai." Kai told himself. "That's not natural, no matter how much your emotions become stupid, you should act logically."

He was sitting in the rooftop as he didn't like the gathering. Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Yeonjun.
"Hi, hyung."
"What are you doing here? Let's go in the ground floor."
"Don't wanna go. Too much people there. Rather, you sit here, I want to talk."

As Yeonjun by side of Kai. Kai started, "Tell me, hyung, what do you actually think about me?"
Yeonjun tried to think logically but he was probably having a short circuit.
"I-i..." He stopped.
"Something's wrong between us. At least I feel that. Some unknown pressure is always there. I'm pretty sure you feel it too."
"I do." Yeonjun said as he took a deep breath.
"Then tell me what do you think about me?"
"That's maybe, maybe that's some liking I don't want to explain. You know, it's not just friendly."
"Understandable." Kai sighed.

"But you know, this is not so normal right? I mean, having some damn attraction to anyone is normal but not natural, not healthy." Kai continued. "It's better if we behave casual right? I don't want to create a pro-"
"You're saying this all just after I admitted?" A single tear rolled down from Yeonjun's left eye.
"I'm saying this for myself, not for you. Sorry that I'm being selfish. Let's just be normal."

Yeonjun just nodded.

His cheeks were dried soon.

Nothing happened between them. They were fine being friends, just some awkwardness afterward, and had to struggle with whatever damn thing was disturbing them inside. They both wanted it to stop, more Kai and less Yeonjun, but who knows, could they actually become normal? Could they actually accept their fate? Could they finish their inner disturbance against nature?
