Teen Taehyun was grossly in love with their school band's guitarist Beomgyu. And was best friends with HueningKai, the main vocalist of the band.

Taehyun had a honey-like voice, so Kai first requested him badly to come with him, his 'best friend' to the band, and he denied back then. But when he saw that their senior Beomgyu was also in the band, he really regretted his decision. But he tried to interact with him always.

"Hyuka, please please, pass my love note to Beomgyu, whenever you meet him?"

And Kai was grossly in love with his best friend, Taehyun. But since the time he knew that Taehyun liked Beomgyu, he seriously lost his confidence. Then while covering band songs, he always suggested heartbroken songs.

"Why these songs always? I know they are great, but why always?" Beomgyu one day questioned him.
"Because they are relatable?" Kai couldn't answer fully.
"Not to all though. Tell me, Kai-ah, maybe something is bothering you?"
"Something is bothering me always. I can't shake off the thought that the person I'm in love with is in love with someone else."
And immediately left because he felt sad.

Everytime Taehyun gave Kai paper pieces, he read them before giving them to Beomgyu. And Beomgyu was not really thinking about those, because it was a regular phenomenon.

Truth be told, Kai's face lost its confidence whenever Taehyun talked about Beomgyu.

"Hyuka, did Beomgyu hyung reply this time?"
"Hm? No, he gets pieces like this regularly, so you see."
"How long do I have to wait.....?" Taehyun sat beside Kai with a big sigh.
"Why don't you just give up?" Kai sighed too.
"Love can't give up. But it's been actually so long hanging on him."
"You're just too stupid to fall in love with a right person."

Then Kai stood up because it was time for his band activity.
"I'll meet you later, bye."

When he was working on rehearsal and the song was 'You Belong With Me' by Taylor Swift, his eyes got wet and voice cracked. Beomgyu immediately stopped playing his guitar and went by his side.
"Kai-ah, it's understandable you're in pain. I'm all ears. I can't see you suffering like this. Please tell me, maybe I can help you?"
"Maybe n-now, I trust only y-you. H-hyung, tell others to go away."

When others left the room-
"I'll get straight to the point. My best friend, Taehyun is grossly in love with you. He doesn't have the courage to come himself and ask you out. And here I'm the one grossly in love with him. He doesn't know, I lost my courage the time he told me he loved you." Kai sniffled as he hugged Beomgyu subconsciously.
"I dunno what am I to him?" Kai continued. "How do I make him understand that he ain't a best friend to me? I-"
"Kai-ah, I'll talk myself to Taehyun." Beomgyu said as he broke the hug.
"And it's still a secret, now only you'll be knowing. I'm dating Choi Soobin, you now him. I love him so much and this is why I didn't even read what Taehyun wrote to me. I'll try my best to fix this."

Kai trusted Beomgyu, that maybe finally Taehyun would look at Kai with some different emotion rather than just best friends.

But that didn't happen.

The next time Taehyun met Kai, he looked at him blankly for a few minutes, then started.
"You could've told me, you know." Taehyun frowned. "Maybe I would've given you a chance. But you should've come yourself. You are no less coward than me."
Kai just looked at the ground because his heart felt so heavy that he didn't want to look at Taehyun.
"Give me some time. I need time to be alright and then I'll think about giving you a chance. Don't talk to me until then."

And for almost a week, Taehyun didn't go to school. When Kai tried to know what happened to him, he knew that he transferred.

"So you hated me this much?" Kai told Taehyun in his thought. "So I was nothing to you?"
