Around the time of Shun and Akari's date, Droite sat on her living room couch, drinking tea while reading a book. This always helped to relax her in the evening when she felt stressed. It had indeed been a stressful day. Gauche had a run in with a crazy fan during a convention and Droite had to "smooth things out" (aka, she called the police and had him dragged off). She needed some serious downtime after that and was relieved when she left for the day and returned home. She sighed while reading her book.

"I kinda envy the main girl here. At least she's bold enough to tell the man she loves how she feels." Droite said to herself. She still longed for Kaito, to be recognized and accepted as someone more than just a girl he knew from his youth. To be his.... "Oh, who am I kidding?" Droite said before slamming her book shut. Her eyes closed tightly with anger at herself for being a coward. But, she knew Kaito just didn't see her the way she wanted to be seen. "Give up that fantasy already, Droite. It's just not going to happen. Kaito and I will never..."

Droite stopped herself when she heard a knocking on her front door. The woman looked at her watch to see it was just after 8 pm. She wasn't expecting anyone this time of night. Both curiously and cautiously, Droite approached her door and checked through the peep hole. She gasped when she saw who it was. It couldn't be! She must be imagining things! She had to be! Her visitor was none other than...

"Droite, are you home? It's me..." Droite unlocked and opened the door before he could finish his sentence. It truly was him. Beside him was his faithful multifunctional robot, Orbital 7.

"K-Kaito?" She gasped. Kaito nodded, confirming his identity.

"Hello Ms. Droite." Orbital 7 said with a friendly wave, making sure he was not be ignored.

"Yes, hello Orbital 7." Droite greeted before returning her attention to her crush. "What are you... doing here, Kaito?" She asked, nearly breathless at being caught off guard by his unexpected visit. Kaito Tenjo took a deep breath and gave his answer.

"I... wanted to see you. May I um... come in?" He asked in a slightly nervous tone.

"Yes, of course." She then stepped aside, allowing her guests to enter before closing the door. As long as she knew him, Droite had never known Kaito to be nervous. Why would he nervous about visiting her? "Can I get you something to drink?" She asked politely.

"Just a glass of water please. If you... don't mind." He responded.

"Not at all. Make yourself comfortable. I'll be right back." Droite said before proceeding to the kitchen.

"I will be right here if you need me." Orbital 7 said as he moved himself to a nearby corner before entering his standby mode, shutting off most of his systems.

As he took a spot on the nearby couch, Kaito continued to ask himself why he was doing this. He had known Droite since the two of them and Gauche were training to become Duelists by Mr. Heartland. He never saw her as more than a childhood friend. But when he saw Droite cry as she was leaving the camp site, as well as her angered responses to Luna, Kaito started to wonder if what Luna said about her was true. He then thought back to his conversation with Luna about an hour earlier...

Flashback

Kaito had just left Haruto to nap in his room and was on his way to the lab to assist his father with the dimensional portal machine. On the way, he saw Luna exiting the bathroom. She seemed to be heading back to the direction of her room as she spotted Kaito. "Oh, hi Kaito." She said with what seemed to be a friendly smile. "Did Haruto like his little birthday gift?" Kaito smiled back.

"Yeah. He loved the new interactive butterfly game father and I made for him. Thanks for the idea."

"It was no problem. Glad he likes it." Luna told him. "Well, I should go. Talk to you later." She then turned to walk away, rather hurriedly. That was when Kaito decided now was as good a time as any to clear up something
