Jay crouched low behind the school's outer wall, his eyes darting around to make sure the coast was clear. It was another boring day at school, and he'd had enough of it. The urge to skip his next class had been simmering in his mind all morning, and now, as the bell rang for the next period, he decided he'd had enough.

He glanced around one last time, making sure there were no teachers or students in sight. Satisfied, he grabbed the edge of the brick wall and hoisted himself up with ease. Swinging his legs over, he prepared to jump down when a voice stopped him in his tracks.

"Are you seriously skipping class right now?" a girl's voice called out. Jay's head snapped around to see Eunjin standing a few feet away, arms crossed and an amused grin on her face.

Jay's heart skipped a beat. He hadn't seen her there. She must have been walking by just as he decided to make his great escape. Glaring at her, he muttered, "You didn't see anything, got it?"

Eunjin raised an eyebrow, her grin turning into a smirk. "And what if I did?"

Jay shot her a deadly look, his voice dropping to a low threat. "If you tell anyone, you'll regret it."

But before Eunjin could respond, a teacher's voice boomed from around the corner, "Hey! Who's over there?"

Jay's eyes widened in panic. Without thinking, he jumped down the wall and sprinted off in the opposite direction, his footsteps echoing against the pavement. He didn't look back, hoping that Eunjin would keep her mouth shut. If he got caught, he'd be in a world of trouble.

Meanwhile, Eunjin calmly turned to face the approaching teacher, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh, hello, Mr. Kim! I was just wondering—do you know where the library is? I keep getting lost around here."

The teacher, momentarily thrown off by her sudden barrage of questions, slowed down. "The library? It's on the second floor, but—"

Eunjin continued her distraction tactics, asking random questions and feigning interest in the school layout. By the time Mr. Kim realized she was just wasting his time, Jay was long gone.

Later that day, Jay was back in class, sitting at his desk with his arms crossed and a deep frown on his face. When Eunjin walked in, his eyes followed her every move, narrowed with suspicion. She took her seat right next to him with a smug smile. He'd never noticed her sitting there before. Did she move closer just to mess with him?

Jay leaned in, his voice a low whisper filled with annoyance. "If you say anything, I swear—"

Eunjin interrupted him with a whisper back, her tone light and teasing. "Relax, your secret's safe with me... for now."

Jay wasn't convinced. Throughout the entire class, he kept glancing at her from the corner of his eye, his glare unwavering. Every time she shifted or leaned forward, he tensed, waiting for her to do something that might give him away. But Eunjin just sat there, casually jotting down notes, not seeming the least bit concerned.

It wasn't until later, when Jay was assigned to sweep the hallway as part of his classroom duties, that he overheard something that made him pause. As he moved his broom methodically across the floor, he heard Mr. Kim's voice around the corner, talking to another teacher.

"I swear, I almost caught the student who was skipping. But that girl—Eunjin, I think her name is—kept asking me all these questions and threw me off. By the time I got past her, whoever it was had disappeared," Mr. Kim grumbled.

Jay stopped sweeping, his mind processing the information. So, Eunjin hadn't snitched. In fact, she'd actually helped him escape. His tension eased, the weight of mistrust lifting off his shoulders. Maybe he had judged her too quickly.

Later, Jay decided to find Eunjin and properly thank her—or at least acknowledge that she wasn't a threat. He found her in the nurse's office, casually lounging on one of the beds, her face flushed from what seemed like a minor headache.

"Hey," Jay started, leaning against the doorframe awkwardly.

Eunjin looked up, a little surprised to see him. "Oh, it's you. Here to make sure I didn't spill your dirty little secret?"

Jay scratched the back of his neck, his usual confidence wavering. "No, actually... I came to apologize. I shouldn't have threatened you like that. And thanks for, you know, distracting Mr. Kim."

Eunjin smiled, genuinely this time, a softness in her eyes. "No problem. I figured you'd owe me one if I kept quiet, and I was right."

Jay chuckled, a rare sound from him. "Yeah, I guess I do."

They chatted for a while, their conversation unexpectedly easy and light. Jay found himself liking her sense of humor and her boldness. It wasn't often someone stood up to him, and he had to admit, it was kind of refreshing. By the end of their talk, they had exchanged phone numbers, a tentative friendship forming between them.

But not everyone was thrilled about this newfound bond. Sunoo had been with Eunjin that day when she'd "accidentally" stumbled upon Jay jumping off the wall. As he watched Eunjin cozy up to Jay in the nurse's office, something didn't sit right with him. There was a certain deliberateness to how she'd been there at the right moment, how she'd appeared when Jay was making his escape.

Later that day, when Sunoo spotted Jay alone by the vending machines, he decided to approach him. "Hey, Jay," Sunoo called out, his tone casual but his eyes serious.

Jay looked up, slightly wary. "What's up?"

Sunoo hesitated for a moment, choosing his words carefully. "I saw what happened today with Eunjin. Just... be careful around her. I get bad vibes, you know?"

Jay raised an eyebrow, not quite buying it. "Bad vibes? She didn't rat me out when she could've. Seems alright to me."

Sunoo sighed, his frustration evident. "I'm just saying. She seems to know exactly where to be at the right time. It feels off. I don't want to see you get caught up in something."

Jay shrugged, his expression indifferent. "Look, man, I appreciate the concern, but she helped me out today. I'm not gonna push her away for no reason."

Sunoo frowned, clearly unhappy with Jay's response. He could see that Jay was already starting to trust Eunjin, and that worried him. Sunoo had learned to trust his instincts over the years, and right now, every one of them was screaming at him to keep an eye on Eunjin.

As Jay walked away, Sunoo couldn't shake the unease settling in his gut. He knew he'd have to stay vigilant. If Eunjin was as manipulative as he suspected, Jay might be in for a rude awakening. Sunoo would make sure to keep a close watch on her, whether Jay believed him or not. After all, he'd seen how easily Eunjin could slip into someone's life—Jungwon and Heeseung were proof of that. And now, with Jay in her sights, Sunoo wasn't going to let his guard down anytime soon.
