This new opportunity means that any writer (like you!) can now pitch their serialized story ideas for a chance to be featured as part of our diverse and high-quality Wattpad Originals collection.
So, what are Wattpad Originals? They're top-tier, handpicked stories that can be unlocked with Coins, Wattpad Premium or Wattpad Premium+ subscriptions.
How to pitch your story
We're looking for fresh and engaging serialized stories to bring to readers. Here's what you need to know:
🧑💻 Serialized stories only: Your pitch should be for a new, serialized story idea with a minimum of 150,000 words. Ideally, your story will have at least 2 seasons, with each chapter ranging from 2,000 to 2,500 words
💡New ideas: We're only accepting pitches for new stories in English. Previously published works, whether on Wattpad or other platforms, aren't eligible
📚 Verticals: Your story needs to fit into one of our 6 verticals: Dangerous Love, Hot Encounter, Werewolf, Para-Romantasy, Slice of Life, and Speculative Fiction
Pitch submission requirements:
Prepare the following materials for your pitch:
- Logline: A one-sentence description of your story that captures the protagonist, inciting incident, protagonist's goal, and central conflict
- Summary: A 500-word overview of your story's plot, showing how the narrative develops beyond the inciting incident
- First chapter: Submit the polished first chapter of your story, ideally between 2,000 and 2,500 words. It should include a strong hook, clear goals, motivations, conflicts and stakes
Our pitching inbox is always open, so you can submit your story idea at any time. Keep an eye open out for specific vertical and subgenre openings, but there's no need to wait for a specific call to submit. While Creators Program members receive priority assessment, pitching is open to everyone.
