Martin was sitting in front of you and at the other side of him was Chris. Both Chris and you had a bunch of band-aids and were putting them on Martin's scratches one by one, with tired faces, while Martin just stayed there, with a sad puppy face, saying "ow" every once in a while.

"Why are they so thorny?" Martin asked, defeated.

"To defend themselves from predators" You said quietly, unable to help but smile at how idealistic he was sometimes.

"Well bro, I think that's the last one" Chris said.

"Thank you both" Martin said, looking exhausted.

You smiled at him with a bit of sadness, feeling bad for all the trouble he was going through lately.

Something else felt sad... Scary even. But you couldn't put your finger on what. It was something about the environment that was giving alarm signals all over your body, making you feel uneasy.

You did a mental analysis of what could be:

- The wind was blowing very strongly in your direction.
- There were several tumbleweeds rolling around nearby.
- The sun wasn't that hot anymore, but there was a lot of sand in the air due to the wind.

Yet, your train of thought was interrupted when you heard Chris' soft voice ask you: "Uh.... Bot? Are you ok?" Looking at you with concern, as your face showed you were quite disturbed.

You snapped out of it and said: "Yeah, yeah... I'm ok."

"Hey Bot" Martin said, suddenly thinking about something he felt important.

"Yeah?" You said.

"Why do you think these plants are so important?" He said, looking at you with expectation and surprise, "I mean... They look funny in the background but I don't think most people think much of them"

You looked down and grabbed your arm tightly, as the subject gave you mixed emotions.

Chris and Martin looked at you with worry.

"Well" you said, "did you know that tumbleweeds aren't actually native to the U.S.?"

"What!?" Chris and Martin said, looking shocked.

"But I thought they represented the old west and the beginning of the nation and all that" Martin said.

"Yeah, many people think that. But let me show you what really happened" you said, getting up the ground and then offering him a hand to get up.

He smiled at you and took your hand.

You looked down, flustered, for a moment, your mind wondering why even feel so embarrassed about this at all.

However, you shouldn't have gotten distracted.

He pulled your arm to get up and the strength was so much it actually ended up pulling you down. You fell beside him.

"Owowow!" You said, after landing on that hard floor.

"Oops!" Martin said, guilty.

Did you really think you could help Martin Kratt get off the ground?

"Here bro, let me do it" Chris said, giving his brother a hand.

He pulled and Martin got up.

Then Martin offered you a hand, looking sad at what he did to you.

You forgot about the pain and smiled at him, feeling happy that, whatever the mishaps, they were sincerely all in this together.

You took his hand and got up.
