Chapter 3

Monday morning arrived, and Sabreen prepared for school, wearing her uniform with a black pinafore dress, white and black checkered inner, white baby hijab, white school shoes, and black loafers. She looked smart and confident, but her usually bright eyes seemed a bit gloomy, though not very noticeable. Downstairs, she greeted her parents, who acknowledged her greetings and offered a prayer for her success, which she responded to with "Ameen." Both parents noticed her gloomy eyes but simply sighed, as this had been her demeanor since leaving the Hassan's residence.

The family of three sat down for breakfast, which Sabreen served, a routine she had established. After breakfast, her driver took her to school, and she spent the day engaged in her studies, excelling as one of the most intelligent students in her primary 5 class. At the end of the school day, Sabreen met her driver and headed home.

Friday arrived, a significant day marking Arham's departure, with an evening flight scheduled. At 2 pm, Sabreen and her parents prepared to go to the airport, where they met the Hassan's. Sabreen's heart sank, and she felt a sense of loss, missing her "Ya Arham" (big brother Arham) already. She sat with Arham, who reminded her to keep her promise, and they spent time playing games on his mobile phone and snacking. As the departure time approached, the parents prayed for Arham's success and well-being, deciding to wait in the car while Sabreen said her goodbyes. Arham held Sabreen's hand, promising not to forget her, Insha Allah, and gave her a gentle peck on the cheek, whispering something in her ear. He smiled, waved, and reminded her to take care of herself and stay happy. Sabreen took a deep breath, joined her parents in the car, and they left the airport, heading home.
