Chapter 6

Sabreen's eyes scanned the crowded hall, her heart racing with excitement and nerves. She had just received her graduation certificate and was looking for her family and friends. Suddenly, her gaze locked onto a familiar figure standing across the room. Arham. Her breath caught in her throat.

Twelve years of memories came flooding back. She felt like a teenager again, with a mix of emotions swirling inside her. Arham's eyes met hers, and he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He looked older, more mature, but his eyes still held the same warmth.

Sabreen's friends noticed her frozen state and followed her gaze. "Sabreen, isn't that...?" Ramlah started, but Sabreen just nodded, still unable to move.

Arham made his way through the crowd, his eyes never leaving Sabreen's face. When he reached her, he opened his arms, and Sabreen hesitated for a moment before stepping into his embrace. It felt like no time had passed at all.

"I'm so proud of you, Sabreen," Arham whispered, his voice sending shivers down her spine. "You've grown into an amazing woman."

Sabreen pulled back, searching his face for answers to questions she hadn't even formed yet. "Arham, where have you been? Why didn't you...?"

Arham's expression turned serious, and he glanced around the crowded hall. "Let's talk outside, okay?"

Sabreen nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. What would he say? Why had he come back now?

As they walked out of the hall, Sabreen's friends called out congratulations and farewell, but she barely heard them. Her focus was on Arham, who walked beside her, his presence both familiar and strange.

Once outside, Arham led her to a quiet spot, away from the crowd. "Sabreen, I...I don't know where to start," he began, his voice filled with emotion.

Sabreen's heart skipped a beat. What would he say next? Would he explain his disappearance? Would he apologize?
