Chapter 13
Today was the day Sabreen would leave her parents' house and start a new life with her husband, Arham. She felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, unsure of what awaited her in her marital home. Despite her uncertainty, she believed that she and Arham would overcome any challenges together.
As she sat on her bed, lost in thought, her three friends, Ramlah, Ummaimah, and Waleedah, burst into her room, teasing her about her new status as Arham's wife. Sabreen blushed, and the girls laughed, enjoying the lighthearted moment. Ramlah began braiding Sabreen's hair into intricate cornrows, while Ummaimah and Waleedah chatted about their own love lives.
As they chatted, Sabreen's stomach growled, and Ummaimah joked about the butterflies in her tummy. Ramlah playfully gagged, and Waleedah began telling a dramatic story about a dream she had, involving werewolves and a handsome alpha wolf. The girls laughed, and Sabreen smiled, feeling a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of her wedding preparations.
After their conversation, Ramlah and Ummaimah helped Sabreen prepare for her bath, adding essential oils and traditional perfumes to the water. Sabreen soaked for an hour, relaxing and calming her nerves. When she finished, her aunties and friends helped her dress in a stunning outfit, fitting for a bride on her way to her marital home. They carefully draped a beautiful lafaya around her body, the intricate folds and tucks accentuating her curves. The lafaya was made of luxurious silk, adorned with delicate embroidery and sparkling sequins. Sabreen felt like a true queen, her heart racing with excitement and nervousness.
Her friends and aunties added the final touches, spraying her with fragrant perfumes and adorning her hands and feet with intricate henna designs. Sabreen's mother handed her a small, exquisitely crafted wooden box. "For your new home," she said, her eyes shining with tears. Sabreen opened the box, revealing a beautiful silver locket with a delicate Quranic verse engraved on it.
At 6 pm, the groom's family arrived to escort her to her new home. Sabreen's aunties and friends accompanied her, and they traveled in expensive cars to her marital home in Asokoro, Abuja, Nigeria. The convoy was led by Arham's sleek black Range Rover, adorned with colorful wedding decorations.
As they arrived, Sabreen was struck by the beauty of the house. The mansion boasted sleek, modern architecture, with large windows and a beautifully manicured lawn. The interior was equally impressive, with high ceilings, marble floors, and exquisite furnishings. A stunning chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the room.
Sabreen was greeted by her mother-in-law, Hajiya Rumaisa, who welcomed her with a warm smile and a fragrant bouquet of flowers. After exchanging greetings, Sabreen's friends and aunties left, leaving her alone with her new family.
Later, Arham arrived, and the girls teased him, demanding money before allowing him to see his bride. Arham, being his usual aloof and arrogant self, told his friends to give the girls any amount they wanted. After receiving the money, the girls allowed him to enter, and Arham immediately sat down beside Sabreen, holding her hand and whispering sweet nothings into her ear.
As the night unfolded, they performed their prayers together, asking Allah to bless their marriage. Afterward, they shared a romantic dinner, savoring delicious dishes prepared by Arham's personal chef. Arham took Sabreen to their bedroom, where they began their new life together.
