Chapter 26

The Next Day
My Apartment, Greenville, South Carolina, 12pm.

I slept at like 2am. The argument with Duke just kept replaying in my head. I just couldn't stop thinking about the fact that I may of lost my best friend. I just can't stop thinking about him. Just him. What am I doing? This ain't normal. I've got a boyfriend. I don't think this, just us, is even going to work. But I'm thinking about us arguing and that's making me go crazy. But I just need to get him out of my mind, it's not good for him to be there.

I then wipe my eyes with my hands and then I get a normal call from Silky. He's probably going to be mad at me because I haven't sent him a text the day I landed and I haven't called him at all. But my excuse would be me sleeping for the past three days I've been home. I then pick up after the sixth ring.

"Hey, baby"

Silky: You ain't text me for the past three days, what's going on?

"You know what I'm going to say, I'm not in the mood and I've been sleeping for the past three days."

Silky: How's Teyana, what was her reaction when she saw you?

"Her eyes widened she gave me the tightest hug ever, I saw the kids they really missed me so much"

Silky: I'll be there soon to see my boy Darius.

"He actually asked for you which was nice of him to be honest, I really found that nice"

Silky: That is real nice, but the other friends they still mad at me huh?

"Nah, Bri is growing on you, she said she's starting to like you"

Silky: How about the guys?

"Drea is growing, Davo hates you so does Duke."

Silky: Oh yeah, you speak to his girl?

"Yeah, we blessed it"

Silky: Oh word, that's good, I'm glad that you did.

"I'm glad that I did too. To be honest, but with Duke, we ain't blessed shit"

Silky: What? You fought him?

"I had too, this nigga talking bout how I'm always angry when he's the root of the problem"

Silky: I don't know what you two got going on, but babe, word though, you've gotta stop being on bad terms with everybody.

"I'm not, I'm just not myself and people just need to understand that. I'm a human."

Silky: Baby, I understand you because you're my girl and I be leaving you alone when you are in those certain moods, but your friends are just seeing this sight of you for the first time and it's just you have to let them know what's to come.

"Look at you giving me advice, it's supposed to be me doing that for real"

Silky: Shut up.

I then roll my eyes and get out of bed on my way to the bathroom because today, Dyior is coming over to talk to me about something. And you know, my friends be coming to me when they need help and I'm more than happy to help them.

Silky: What you up to right now though?

"I'm about to brush my teeth and head into the shower and get my day started"

Silky: Dest, at 12pm?

"Yes, and what? I'm going through it"

Silky: Are you sure you don't wanna go back to therapy?

"I'm good"

Silky: Okay, I ain't judging you. I'm just recommending it.

"Your recommendation was valid but for now, there's no need for it"
