Stomping up the bleachers, I take the seat next to Kendall. Declan surely wasn't kidding about neither of us driving his precious bronco.
"I know it sucks that we have to wait but at least the view isn't bad" Kendall says checking out the team as they run by
I roll my eyes, going back to my book. I had no interest in watching this practice. I wanted to be at home enjoying my book or at least finishing unpacking my room.
"How are you not the least bit interested in this" she says looking over at me
"Why would I wanna watch a group of guys huff and puff while throwing a ball around?" I question
"Why wouldn't you?" She asks
I roll my eyes going back to my book. I can hear a bunch of commotion and yelling going on but I continue to ignore it.
"Kai!"
I jump as a lacrosse stick is now in front of my face holding a ball. My eyes then drift over towards Kendall. She was holding the stick and looked as shocked as I did.
"That was close" she huffs
I nod, the words not forming. Declan, Lukas, and another guy run up to us taking off their masks in the process.
"You okay Kai?" Declan asks checking my face
"Nice catch" Lukas says
"I'm so sorry. That was totally my fault. I'm so sorry" the dirty blonde from class says
"It's fine but you might wanna be careful next time" Kendall says throwing the ball back perfectly
"Hey! Girl!" The coach yells while blowing his whistle
"I have a name" Kendall huffs
"Sorry. Have you ever played before?" He asks
"Just with this doofus" she says patting Declan on the head
"Watch it" he says rolling his eyes
"Wanna play?"
.•*•.
"How was school?" Mom asks as soon as we walk through the door
"Guess who made the lacrosse team?" Declan says
"You?" She questions
"Well duh but so did Kendall" he says before walking away
"Well congratulations. Both of you. Did everyone have a good day today?" She asks hopefully
Both Declan and Kendall say yes before she looks over at me with a hopeful look adorning her face.
"It was okay" I say shrugging
