"Really? You had to tell them I would try out?" I groan getting out of the car
"And why shouldn't you try out?" Declan counters
"Because" I say
"That's not a good enough reason Kai. Just try out. If you hate it, don't stay. If you love it, just join the team" he says encouraging me
"I hate you" I say playfully
He smiles, shaking me by my shoulders as I unlock the door.
"What's up guys" Kendall says smiling as we walk in the door
I say nothing as I walk past her. I lay my bag on the counter as my mom is in the middle of cooking. I grab a bag of chips and a water before grabbing my bag and turning to go upstairs.
"Kai, I'm cooking dinner" my mom says before I'm out of the doorway
"I know and thanks for the ride today" I say crunching on my chips
I hear her sigh as I continue up the stairs. Once I'm in my room, I change and put my glasses on to do some homework.
"Kai" Declan says knocking on my door
"Yeah?" I ask looking up from my laptop
"You're trying out right?" He asks
"Maybe. Why?" I ask
"Lukas asked me because sky wanted to know" he says looking down at his phone
"Of course" I say looking back at my book
Declan then goes into my closet to rummage. I look up from my book once more to figure out what he's doing.
"Wanna tell me what you're doing?" I question
"Getting clothes together for tryouts tomorrow so I can put it in my car" he says as if it's obvious
I watch him in amusement. He is then interrupted by Kendall barging in.
"Hey- what are you guys doing?" She asks
"Putting together a bag for tomorrow for Kai" Declan says
"Why?" She asks
Declan ignores her and continues to pack my bag. He puts any and everything in the bag no matter what it is.
"You're putting the wrong things in there dude. What's up?" I ask Kendall
"What did you do to mom?" She asks
"Nothing. I just thanked her for picking me up and thank you for telling me about leaving early" I say sarcastically
"Oh calm down Kairo. It wouldn't have killed you to stay" she says rolling her eyes
"And it wouldn't have killed you to say something either" I say
