The man who hurt Willow was named Oliver Whitlock, and he was a pageant judge who worked closely with Willow's parents.
They essentially had an entire path set out for Willow. She was expected to be a beauty queen, and likely to grow into a model or some sort of public figure. She was constantly forced to participate in pageants and modeling gigs she wanted no part of. She wanted to be a kid, wanted to make her own decisions, but they wouldn't let her.
Oliver was a bad man, but Willow has never gone into any detail about what all he specifically did to her. To be fair, I've never really asked, but that's because I didn't want to make her talk about things she didn't want to. There was one thing I was sure of, though.
I really wanted to kill him.
It wasn't even entirely because of what he did to Willow. According to her, he was also one of very few people who was likely to talk to the police. Evidently, she had voiced to him on many occasions how much she hated him and her parents. She'd also threatened him, and generally expressed how much she wanted them all to die.
So, he was likely to notify the police of her violent tendencies, and from there, they may have real reason to suspect she did it. As of right then, she was only a missing person—assumed to be a victim. He was the only person who would be able to sway the authorities that there was more to it, and I didn't want them to be after her. I wanted her to live a normal life. I ended up failing, but still.
So, Oliver wasn't my typical demographic. He was quite high profile, he had a lot of money. He would be missed. However, he was still a shitty person. He was still—as far as I was concerned—worthy of death.
Oliver would be my most difficult kill yet, but I was willing to take the chance. I shouldn't have been, I shouldn't have cared, but I did. I knew it would ease Willow's mind if he was out of the picture, and that was only one of the potential upsides to removing him from the equation. There was also the fact that he'd never be able to do it to another girl again.
The issue was that he had a family, and a mansion, and was otherwise going to be quite difficult to get a hold of. His house would be too risky—he had so many employees, on top of the people already living there.
This was the first and only time I didn't take somebody from their house. That was always my preference, because I'd have a lot more control over the situation. I don't have that in a public space, which was exactly where I'd have to take Oliver.
I followed him for a while, but I had to do it far more discreetly. I couldn't really use my truck, having to primarily rely on following him by foot. The main issue was that he was constantly surrounded by people. The only time he ever seemed to be alone was when he'd go to the bathroom, and even then, he wouldn't be alone for long.
I did finally get an opportunity, however, when he decided to attack another girl.
He obviously would not do so when there were other people around, and it was later at night. It was in one of the buildings where they would hold the pageants. The girl's parents weren't picking her up, and must've had something else going on, so she was stuck there. With him.
