I clutch the guy's hand in my grip, before dropping the rest of his body and pulling myself up to a standing position. I then close the car door, before beginning to make my way to the entrance of the facility. I step right up to it, ready to knock, when I hear something from behind me.

"Hey, Camilo!"

I practically jump out of my skin, dropping the hand and spinning on my heel with my knife at the ready. I take a few steps away from the door so that I can keep an eye on it as well as look for the voice. I scan my surroundings, looking over the parking lot and along the treebanks that surround this place. It takes a while, especially since they blend in with the night, but I finally spot someone emerging from the bushes.

Lucia.

What the hell is she doing here?

"Lucia?" I sound absolutely fucking flabbergasted, for good reason. I'm wracking through my brain for ideas as to what could've led her here, but I'm coming up blank. Did Dex tell her? Why isn't he with her, then?

Lucia jogs up to me, a smile on her face, strongly contrasting my own mood. I must seem beyond confused, and I notice she has both of her hands in her jacket pockets. It makes her look strange when she runs, and pretty soon, she's standing right in front of me. I continue to look at her like she's grown a second head until she finally decides to give me an explanation for her presence.

"I was following a copycat lead and it took me here. What about you?"

She's following a lead? That doesn't make sense, why would she do so by herself? Also, what copycat lead could've taken her to The Doctor? This is confusing, but I've also given up trying to figure out this woman. The death of her sister has made her thought process quite different, it's obvious. She's more driven by emotion.

That still doesn't actually explain anything, though.

"Same," I respond, because... Well, yeah, that's the whole reason I'm here right now. "If you're following a lead, why isn't Dex with you?"

"Oh, he's busy," Lucia tells me, waving her hand dismissively. "Said something about needing to be alone. I'm not sure."

Wow, is he really that messed up overseeing the facility? I knew he was upset, and I know that he... he does have some reason to be. He's not entirely in the wrong, even if I did warn him. I know how he is, I probably should've mentioned this to him sooner. Even I have to admit that the facility is a lot. It looks like a mad scientist probably lives here. Or like those labs in movies where they do underground human experiments. It would be difficult to not have some sort of emotional, disgusted response, especially if not given some sort of warning.

I can understand him being freaked out, just not to this extent. Not to the point where he won't accompany Lucia to a dangerous situation. Then again, I also thought we'd gotten past any risk of him reporting me to the police, so maybe I just have no idea what I'm talking about.
