[tyler's pov]
It's been two days of me driving Victoria to school and back home during my lunch, which I honestly didn't mind doing. I enjoyed her bluntness in a conversation compared to everyone who spoke to me as if I was a kid–like back when my mom died.
I'm seventeen, goddammit, and everyone speaks as if I'm verbally illiterate or as if I'm a ticking time bomb. Even my dad avoided me as if he were afraid to light the fuse.
But she didn't. She wasn't afraid to hurt my feelings–not only that, but she knew where her priorities were.
As far as I knew, she didn't have any "abilities" like the rest of the students at Nevermore. But I could live with that.
It's also been two days since my dad and Victoria's encounter at work. Unfortunately, I underestimated her. I didn't think she could stand up for herself like that. Even though my dad hadn't intentionally done anything, I knew he had something out for outcasts and looked down on them, even if he didn't always realize it.
Besides, Victoria wasn't even disrespectful at all. She simply had cheek.
He didn't seem too bothered by her presence in the neighborhood, my dad. Though he did seem more wary when he was outside, making sure she didn't have anything up her sleeve. But it's not like she did much when she was home.
What did she do anyway?
Surely, she wasn't purely made of academic records.
As I entered my room from a shower, I thought I could kill some time by scrolling on Instagram. It was probably one of the best ways for me to reform into a calmer state when I'd been tense at work all day–I'd been feeling a lot of tension lately and not just physically.
My fingers trailed to the search bar where I typed in Victoria's name.
Nothing.
I tried her last name.
Nothing.
"Hm," I hummed. Was she off the radar?
I then remembered her mentioning a friend's name a couple of times.
"Edin-? Edith-? No, Enid," I recalled, quickly finding a bunch of profiles. I then realized that I've seen Victoria's friend here and there and continued scrolling.

"Damn, why'd she have to crop out her face," I wondered. "Wait, who's Eugene...? Forget it, that's a child."

"Orchestra?" I thought aloud. I wondered what instrument she played. She looked like a violinist type of girl.

victxria.weems Take this down.
victxria.weems Hello??———
I grinned at the photo of her and Shanks, then the unresponded comments. This would make a good contact photo. I took a screenshot and saved it for later before clicking on Victoria's profile. No wonder I couldn't find it–because it was "Victxria" rather than "Victoria." Clever if she didn't want to be found.
But I found her.
I opened her profile.
Damn, of course her account was private.
And three posts? What could they possibly be? Two- hundred sixteen followers was a lot compared to a following of six. What compelled strangers to follow her?
Was it her connections to other musicians? What type of content did she post–was her account previously put on private? Or was there a club she was a part of? A cult?
I had to know.
