[victoria's pov]

Tyler ended up leaving my house pretty late last night, but since his dad was working it wasn't a big problem. After our conversation, I felt better and he even helped me wrap up my kitchen. Tyler was very husband-material... for anyone who was looking.

He was driving me to school this morning as I told him I wouldn't be needing a ride tonight since tomorrow was Outreach Day. I'd be rooming with Enid and Wednesday tonight, which would be great. I'd been looking forward to getting to know Wednesday more since the monster attack.

"So you're sleeping at school tonight?" Tyler asked. "Why's that?"

"It's just easier so I don't have to make two trips to school and back in town," I explained. "I'm sure you know what Outreach day is?"

"Oh yeah," Tyler said with a nod. "Have you ever participated in Outreach day before?"

"I have," I said. "But only once. Last year I got assigned to a dress shop. I stopped going because a classmate of mine got really hurt by some normies a few years back."

"Oh-" Tyler said quietly. "Who's this classmate?"

"His name's Xavier," I answered. "But I don't really talk to him."

"That's neat," Tyler said casually. There seemed to be something he had on his mind, but we were nearing the school so I didn't get much of a chance to ask any questions.

His car came to a stop as I gathered my things. Once again as I opened this car door, Shanks rushed out and made her way into the school, being greeted by a group of sirens.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" Tyler asked.

"Maybe," I said, unsure.

Tyler pursed his lips with a thought. "Would you mind if I called you tonight?"

"I don't mind," I said with a grin. "But if you keep me waiting, I'm afraid I'll just have to go to bed."

Tyler laughed. "I won't keep you waiting."

"Good."

I shut his car door and made my way toward the school. I then caught a glimpse of someone and recognized her to be Bianca Barclay. She'd been watching my conversation with Tyler.

"Hooking up with the normie?" Bianca asked with a grin.

"It's nothing like that," I said defensively and eyed her. I then remembered the photos that Enid had gotten of Tyler and I from last week. "Did you take any photos of us-?"

Bianca scoffed with a grin. "Girl, you may be a town hero for saving Rowan, but you're not a celebrity. And I sure as hell am not the paparazzi."

"It's not that- there's just been some photos of Tyler and I that were captured," I said. "I was wondering if it was you who got it. Or if you happened to know who took the picture since you're out here every morning..."

Bianca thought about the situation to herself and calmed down. "Well, no. It wasn't me. But if you want to find out, you're gonna have to be more discreet about confronting people."

"Yeah, you're right," I said quietly. "Thanks anyway."

As I walked away, Shanks approached me, and I made my way to the Quad. There was still some time left before the day began. There'd be no classes today since today was the Poe Cup.

"Tori!" Enid exclaimed from the end of the hall.

"Enid?" I asked, confused. But soon there was a sack placed over my head as I was dragged into an empty classroom.
