Chapter 7: Eddie meets the other me

I heard a knock on the door and took a deep breath, opening it to see Eddie in a nice suit. He was always in a suit. "Wow..." He said. "You look...absolutely beautiful."
I blushed. "Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." I go to close the door behind me. "Ready?"
"Yeah. You?" I nod. "I was thinking we could go to Paperclip, then go see a movie. If that's okay with you."
"I would like that a lot." I walked over to his car and he opened the door for me. "Thank you."
"My pleasure." He was acting really...nice. And nervous. Not that it was a problem. I just want him to be comfortable.
When he got in the car, I put my hand over his, making him stop in his tracks from turning on the car. "Eddie, don't be so nervous. It's okay. Just be yourself. I know I will." I grin and ice my hand, but not icing him.
He gave me a look, one that made my breathing increase. "Yeah, I'll do that." He said, then cleared his throat. "We should probably get going." I giggled and we headed to Paperclip.
The restaurant was good, better than I thought. The entire dinner, Eddie would either stare at me, or ask me about myself. It was cute how nervous he was. "Eddie, stop being so nervous. It's just me. We've known each other for over a year now."
"I know. It's just...I've always kind of...had a crush on you."
"Really?" Wow. That I didn't know.
"Yeah. You sound like that's hard to believe."
"Well..." I looked down. "You were dating Iris, then you guys broke up. And I was with Barry. And even before Barry and I dated, I didn't really see myself worthy enough for anyone..."
He put his hand on mine and I looked up. "You are...beautiful, extraordinary, and very worthy." He smiled. "Come on. Movie?" I nod and he takes my hand. We leave and when we get outside, it's raining.
"Movie?" I ask. He nods and I laugh. "Okay. Come on." I take his hand, make sure no one is around, and create a dry area for us to walk under.
"What the..."
"I've been practicing. Not only can I create any form of water, but I can stop it as well."
"Cool..." He looked around, and once we were at the car, he turned me around, capturing me in a kiss. "Like I said, beautiful." He kissed me again and soon I was out of breath, in a good way. "Come on. The movie will start soon." I nod and he opens the car door for me, then goes around to the other side.
I let the rain fall again and he started the car. "Eddie?" He raises his eyebrows. "Thank you."
He smiled. "For what?"
"For seeing me in a way that I can't seem to see myself."
"Elena, you are beautiful and talented. Any guy would be lucky to be with you." He chuckled. "I feel lucky."
I laughed softly with him, then frowned. "But, you don't know everything about me. There's something that I need to tell you. Or, show you..."
"I already know you have a gift, Elena."
"I'm not talking about that." I asked Tora to take over, and she did.

Tora's POV

Eddie looked at me, or well, us, confused.
"Elena? Elena what happened? Your eyes changed color! Are you okay?"
"I'm not Elena. My name, is Tora. I live within Elena's mind."
Eddie let out a shaky breath
"Okay..."
"Elena has the powers that she has because of me. She is one of very few people that are able to host another living mind inside of their own. She naturally had an affiliation with ice, and was compatible, and so when I found her, it was the perfect chance. I would protect her, and she would host me. If Elena is ever in trouble, then I will take over by default."
"Okay. So, um, is that all?"
I nodded. Then I let Elena take over again, retreating to the corners of her mind.

Elena's POV

I lurched forward, taking a second to regain my motor controls. Seriously, she needed to give some kind of warning that she was giving me back my control. He cleared his throat. I looked at him.
"Come on, we're gonna be late!"
He laughed, and started driving.
The movie was great. We didn't get any popcorn, although he did get a pack of sour patch kids, snickers, crunch, and butter finger.
"Seriously, how can you eat so much?"
He laughed, and paid the guy at the counter.
"Did you think this was all for me?"
He shoves all the chocolate in my hands, keeping the sour patch kids. I open my mouth in protest, but he's already walking away. The he seems to notice I'm not by his side, and turns.
"Come on!"
He sounds like a whiny little kid. I slightly laugh, shaking my head, but follow him. There's always room for dessert I guess.

After the movie, he dropped me back off at my place.
"Thanks."
I whisper.
"For such a great date."
He smiles, and shakes his head.
"No, I should be thanking you! Tonight was awesome. We should go out sometime again"
He raised an eyebrow, and I realized he was discreetly asking a question.
"I would love to."
He took my face in his hands and kissed me, again. But this time, it was gentle, he pressed his lips against mine for a second, then retreated.
"Bye, Elena."
"Bye, Eddie"
