I awoke. I saw the staff of Star Labs shuffling around me. Sitting up, I saw Barry on the table, eyes closed, chest frozen.
"Oh, good, you're up."
Cisco walked over, and felt my head. Then he handed me a pair of gloves, and a watch.
"What are these?"
"It's your new equipment. Sorry you dont have much time to recover. But you're going to have to take over the field for now. Barry is in a sort of cryofreeze. His heart has been frozen, and the area around it has become frosty. Due to the lack of actual blood pumping, or even then a very slow pumping, the speedforce is keeping him alive. Instead of just blood flowing through his veins, the speedforce is also there, compensating for his loss of blood flow."
I stared at Cisco in shock. This was because of me. He had taken that hit for me. And it was such a small thing. Just Captain Cold. Not the reverse flash or anything. Just a simple, stupid fight. I shook my head, and got off the metal plate. I slipped on my gloves, and strapped on the watch. I felt a prick on the bottom of my wrist; the watch had injected me with something. A locator. I clenched my fists. I cracked my knuckles. And I turned around, and walked out the door, ready to take on the next metahuman.
