On a cold winter night in the snowy mountains, Tanjuro Kamado, father and husband, set out to collect firewood for the night. As he trekked through the snowstorm, he heard a faint cry in the distance.
Following the sound, he stumbled upon a small baby with snowy white hair half buried in the snow, crying loudly. Tanjuro was quick to scoop the baby into his arms and rush back home. He makes inside to see his wife taking care their son, Tanjiro. His wife looked at him shocked and confused.
"Sweetheart, what's the matter?" She asked in a worry tone, as she wasn't used to seeing her husband this worried. Tanjuro moved his arms, to reveal the baby girl in his arms to his wife. Her eyes widened in shock and worry.
"Oh my! Where did you find her?" She asked as Tanjuro walked over to his wife and gently placed the baby down next to his son. Kie gently touched the child's face and let out a soft gasp. "She's freezing!"
"Yeah, I found her out in this storm." Tanjuro informed his wife, and she looked at him horrified.
"Did you see any signs of family or how she got there?" She asked worry laced in her voice. She scooped the child into her arms, trying her best to warm the poor thing up.
"Sadly no. There weren't any signs of life near her, no note, nothing to keep her warm. I don't know how long she was out there." Tanjuro informed his wife, and she looked sadden by this.
Kei looks down at the child in her arms, she slowly opened her eyes, and Kei felt her heart shatter. The child's eyes were very light blue, so blue that she almost looked blind. It wounded Kei's heart at the thought of this child's family abandoning her due to her blindness.
Kei looked up at her husband, a determined expression etched across her face. "We should warm her up before she gets sick."
Tanjuro nodded his head and prepared some warm wet rags to wipe the child's skin, to warm her up. But in doing so, this revealed the strange markings on the child's body. They were confused by this, and a tad bit worried that the child had an illness, but the many doctors they consulted all reassured them that the child wasn't sick.
Even with that all, that couple still decided to take the child in as their own, naming her Nyx, after the night they found her. Her and Tanjiro got along pretty well, and soon the couple welcomed five more kids to their family.
Nezuko, the third oldest. Takeo, the first middle child. Hanako, the second middle child. Shigeru, the third middle child. And Rokuta, the youngest.
They were happy with their somewhat small family up in the snowy mountains, that is until Tanjuro fell ill and died. Tanjiro took on the role of father in the house, doing everything he could to make sure his family had everything, but sadly that wasn't enough.
