The Rage Within

Nyx was still hanging in the air by the threads, her head was starting to hurt from being hung upside down for too long. Her vision was starting to go dizzy as she lost track of time. It felt like it's been years, and she hoped that her siblings and friends made it off the mountain instead of trying to rescue her.

Suddenly she heard a boom off in the distant which was followed by a loud demonic screech. She weakly lifts her head to look in the direction of where the sound came from. 'I hope that was nothing.' she weakly thought.

"Rui! Rui!" She heard a female shout, so she looked down to see Rui coming into the clearly, she was in, with a female demon behind him. She looks to be related to him. "Mother has been killed and our elder brother, too!" The female demon exclaims fear laced in her voice. "What now? The demon slayers aren't far behind us." The female demon said, her voice shaking with fear. "Sh-Shouldn't we make a run for it?"

Nyx watched as the female demon's eyes changed and Rui noticed this as well, as he summoned some threads and walked towards the female demon. She started shaking in fear as she backed away from him, but he still cut her face, causing her to scream in pain.

"I have told you before. I really hate it when your face changes back like that." Rui said as he glared at the female demon before him, as she sobbed in pain.

Nyx weakly clenched her fists as she glared at Rui, but then she sensed another presence nearby. It was a kind presence, one that reminded her of her brother.

"What are you looking at? This isn't a stage show." Rui said and that caught Nyx's attention. She weakly opened her eyes, to see who Rui was talking, only to wince and shut her eyes, as Rui tightened the threads around her.

This caused the threads to dig deeper into her skin and more blood leaked out of it. A drop of her blood slide down her and dropped on Tanjiro's nose. His nose twitched and he picked up the recognizable smell of his sister. His eyes widened in horror as he snaps his head up.

He gasps in horror at the sight of his sister strung up and bleeding profusely. "Nyx!" He shouts horror laced in his voice. He then frowned as he looked at the demon, glaring at him. "What are you doing to my sister!?" He shouts anger laced in his voice.

Rui frowned, anger coursing through his veins. "Sister?" He asked he had anger in his tone. "How is she your sister? You two look nothing alike." He questioned.

Tanjiro glared at the demon, not liking how he was questioning his relations to his own sister. His eyes then flickered down to the female demon crouched down at Rui's feet, who was holding her face, panting heavily. "And her? Isn't she your friend!?" Tanjiro shouts anger laced in his voice.

Rui frowned. "Friend? Our connection is nothing so superficial." He growls out as he glared at Tanjiro. "We are family. Strong ties bind us." He said as he pulls his threads, which tightens around Nyx. 

She screams in pain as the threads cut deeper into her skin. She was trying to focus on her powers, but being hung upside down for so long was making her too dizzy to concentrate. This was starting to annoy her.

'Why the hell can't I do anything!? This is so pathetic of me!' She thought as she started hyperventilating trying to get out of the threads.

"Besides, this matter is between me and my older sister. If you interrupt me, I will crave you up." Rui said as he glared at Tanjiro.

Nyx struggled to get out of the threads, she tried using her nails, but they weren't working at all. She started to battle to stay conscious, but it was getting hard for her.

"Focus, my Siren." She heard the deep voice at the same time, the cursed energy wrapped around her soul, providing her comfort. She could it's annoyance and anger rise, which caused the energy she normally feels to rise as well.
