Chapter 4 Break-up Plans

POV: Sapphire

I woke up about an hour ago and just got back from my morning run. My morning run is where I clear my head and sort things out. This morning I used the time to reflect on what Josh and Mia have done to me. I'm hurt, heartbroken even. I cried myself to sleep last night. I really loved Josh but I don't think I could ever be with him after this. I can never forgive him. 

Mia was my best friend and now she's betrayed me. She's stuck by my side for so long and she does this to me. I'm dreading going to school this morning. It's officially September 18th which means it's my birthday and I am 18 years old making me a legal adult. I'm all on my own now and no longer a ward of the state.

The reason I'm dreading going to school today is that I will be faced with Mia and Josh. I thought about my vengeance plan during my run. I know it's petty and wrong and stupid but I don't care. As far as I'm concerned Josh and I are over and I'm free to do whatever or whoever I want. I'm always the responsible one who never takes risks. I was willing to give everything over to Josh and risk it all with him now I'm taking the biggest risk of all because of Josh. 

Mia will have my locker decorated and a cupcake with a candle. Ella and Josh will be standing next to her. I need to talk to Ella privately about the stuff she sent me yesterday. How long has she known? She's the one friend I have left. 

My phone vibrates in my jean pocket alerting me I have a text. Today I wanted to show Josh just what he's missing. I have a pair of my tightest jeans on which highlights my ass nicely. Then I chose a long-sleeved top that showed just the right amount of cleavage and paired it with Josh's letterman football jacket. He gave it to me to wear so everyone would know I'm his girlfriend. Well, now it serves a different purpose. It's how I'm going to break up with him today.

I take my phone out to see who has texted me only to see it's Ella. 'Did you see my text? I'm so sorry. *crying emoji*' 

I never responded back to her yesterday. I was so upset. 'Yeah, I did. Can we talk later?' *sad emoji*'  I respond back to her. 

Ella responds back with another text message, 'Do they know?' I chuckle to myself because she wants to know if I've confronted Mia and Josh yet when Ella would have known by now if I had. Mia isn't one to do things quietly. Believe me, Mia is going to make a huge scene the second I confront her on this. 'No, so act like nothing happened. Talk to you later about this.' I send another response to her. 

I'm about to call Jack to let him know I'll be at his house later to pick up Rusty and that I need to talk to him when I get yet another text. This time it's Josh. I groan at seeing his name flash on my phone. He's texted me to let me know he's here and waiting for me. Josh drives me to school every day. This is going to be tough. 

I send Jack a quick text instead and grab my stuff heading out of the building and into Josh's car. "Hey babe! Happy Birthday!" He says as I get settled into my seat. He leans over to kiss me and I let him. The kiss completely disgusts me now. I used to like kissing him but now his lips are tainted by Mia. That bitch!
