Chapter 20

Grim, Collin, and Kent were all standing together while listening to Ruby and Jasper explain about the heirlooms.

"Let me get this straight. You want to try and use these?" Grim asked.

"Yes, I think they'll work," Ruby pleaded with Grim.

"I think you may be right, but of course, I'll have to test them to ensure they're not poisonous."

"How will you know if they are?" Jasper asked.

"They will leak, and if they don't, they're safe."

"Wait, I touched them. Wouldn't I be sick if they were?"

"Magic doesn't always take quick effect," Grim explained to Jasper.

Grim tapped the heirlooms and waited. Nothing happened.

"Just because it didn't happen right away, doesn't mean anything. We'll wait to see what happens tomorrow to be safe," Grim replied and everyone nodded in agreement.

As everyone left, something started leaking out of the heirlooms.
