Meta Runner: Demo

Chapter 6 (½) - Game Plan.

Lamar brought Tari, and Theo, to a ramen restaurant, after their suceessful escape from TAS Corp., only to be revealed it was the hideout of a team the goatee-bearded Meta Runner is a part of, named MD-5. The following members were Sofia, the robotic engineer/hacker, and Masa Shimamoto, the leader. The two members of the group accepted Tari's stay in the house, though, Shimamoto refused their sign-up, challenging the blue-headed in a Battle Blaze (FPS shooter game) match, for the girl to prove him she was worthy to be one of the MD-5.

Meanwhile, Belle Fontiere, back at the TAS Corp building, was given orders by Lucks to research in one of the labs, because of Tari's blue wing crest. The blond businessman recalled he have seen the symbol before, therefore, sent Belle to take a look on the last place he's known about the wing. He did not get there himself, since he was busy finding out what happened to Theo's corrupted Ultra Jump Mania cartridge.

Tari, and Masa's battle in the FPS game did not start well. Though, after a few tries, the lady started getting better, prior to Sofia tamper on her Meta Runner arm, and make her warp, proving she can warp inside video-games via the holo-screen coding of the arm. When warped, she managed to give Masa a few wounds, impressing the shaggy-haired with her skills. For unknown reasons, Theo was transported to the game as well, defeating Masa with his banana mines.

When the blue-green duo are brought back to the real world, much to the concern of the woman, the kid started giving signs of failure, meaning they needed to get him back to his own game as soon as possible.

In Belle's side of the story, when rage-kicking a cardboard box, after finding nothing but junk in the lab she was sent to, ironically, she's found the answers her boss wanted to. And it was inside a small SD card.

And now, the red-headed was about to find out a lot of things.

Tari, and Theo, after the concerning moment of failure from the little one, immediately warped back inside Ultra Jump Mania, with the duo walking around the tropical sands of Simple Flip Island's starting land. The blue-headed, taking a gaze at her surroundings, having a little moment to remind of how beautiful was that place, she said to her friend: — Well... I guess you're back home, Theo.

The kid, however, was sad, and a bit angry, kicking the sand a little, because he did not want to get back to his game, even though he is aware of the danger that might occur to him, if Theo kept out of his game for a longer time: — I don't wanna go back...

She, noticing his moment of frustration, and denial for having to return to his own platforming world, turned around to face him, and attempt to comfort him: — C'mon, Theo. You saw yourself glitching out. It's not safe for you to stay in our world.

The green boy, though, felt himself a bit sadder, now looking up, gazing at his best friend, with his frowned facial expression, and respond to her: — But, I've had so much fun with you, Tari... — Then, the boy started looking away: — I've never had a human friend before...

Her, noticing his sad face, still maintianed her trials to reassure her friend, taking one kneel to reach his height, and continue to talk to the child: — I know, Theo. But I cannot risk anything happening to you. Especially with Lucks out there hunting for us.
