"You know that being a loner isn't good for you right?" Wren asked, and Olive turned to glance at her sister who was standing behind the kitchen island, washing dishes. They had been home from group therapy for an hour.
"I'm not being a loner." She muttered, looking down at her hands. It had been two weeks since her release from juvie.
Two weeks of taking her meds on time every day no matter how lethargic they made her, two weeks of Wren fussing over her in between auditions and her waitressing job.
It was exhausting to say the least.
""You are." Wren fought back. "C'mon kid. I know you. You're isolating yourself. I know you're struggling, but you can't be doing this."
"I'm not." Olive snapped, that red hot anger festering inside. She clenched and unclenched her fingers. The urge to hit something was strong.
"I don't need you to fucking baby me." She said, glaring at her sister, and Wren looked at her harshly. "You don't need to snap at me. I'm looking out for you."
"I know." Olive grumbled.
"You better." Wren stepped out from behind the kitchen island, "It's you and me kid. Just you and me. We gotta support each other. Okay?"
Olive nodded, her eyes closing as she took a deep breath in. "Okay."

Truthfully, Olive didn't know what to do. She wasn't the kind of girl who made friends easily, especially with other teenagers.
For the last two years that she had been living with Wren at the Palm Woods, she had been mostly hanging out by herself, occasionally saying hi when one of the other kids said hi to her, but mostly she was on her own.
And then the fight with Devin happened.
Despite what most people thought, it wasn't Olive's fault. Devin had been the one to initiate it, telling Olive that she was a bitch. Olive had rolled her eyes walking away and fully intending on letting it go.
And then Devin brought up Wren.
"You know your sister's a shit actress!" The redhead had yelled. They had all been lounging by the pool after class. It had been calm and serene at least until Devin opened her stupid mouth.
Olive felt her blood pressure rising.
"That's why the only role she's gotten recently focused more on her tits than on her actual lines."
Olive faintly remembered turning to look at the other girl as she laughed. She remembered the way the entire pool seemed to go silent. How even the Jennifers were still.
And after that, the only thing she remembered was being pulled off Devin by Mr Bitters, and looking down and seeing Devin's broken nose.
She was carted off to the LAPD Central Community Police Station, and questioned about the incident before being arrested for aggravated assault.
Wren had gotten called at work and came as quickly as she could. Seeing the disappointment in her sister's face was worse than the knowledge that she was going to juvie.
Juvie was only three months thankfully, and Olive had been stoked to get out. She still had to see a counselor and take her Seroquel despite the metallic taste it left in her mouth.
And now, a whole two weeks had passed. And it was like she was back at square one. No friends other than her sister, sitting in her room drawing or writing in her journal all day.
As much as she didn't want to admit it, maybe Wren had a point.
God, she hated it when Wren was right about stuff. The 30 year old would never let her live it down.
