Jo Taylor was a perfectly nice girl. Honestly.

Olive didn't really have any issues with the blonde.

She was kind and gentle and for the most part kept the boys - read: Kendall, out of trouble, something Olive was thankful for.

But at the current moment in time, Olive wanted to shake the blonde and see if there was truly anything between her ears.

"I'm sorry what?" She asked and Jo gave her a soft smile. "I'm having a sleepover. For my 16th birthday tomorrow. My dad said I could invite a few friends over. And I wanted to invite you."

Olive raised an eyebrow. Jo and her weren't....not friends. They said hi to each other in the hallway, and Olive occasionally complimented her on the newest episode of New Town High. But that was about the crux of their interactions.

"Why? Is this... some kind of joke?" Olive asked, and Jo shook her head, a frown on her face.

"What no. I wouldn't joke about something like that." Her southern accent, which had started to fade the longer in LA she was, poked out. Probably from the frustration, Olive reasoned.

"Oh. Okay."

"I'm serious Olive. If you want to come, the door's open for you. I'm in apartment 4B. My dad will probably be the one who opens the door. The Jennifers and Camille will be there too. And two of my New Town High castmates."

Neither of them spoke for a second before Jo bit down on her lip, her green eyes meeting Olive's brown ones.

"I hope you come Olive. I think you're really cool."

And with that, the blonde walked away, leaving Olive stunned.

She wasn't considering going. No that would be ridiculous. What business did she have at a sleepover?

"What the hell do people do at sleepovers?" Olive demanded as she stormed into her and Wren's apartment.

Wren looked up from her spot on the couch. The older girl had been reading a book and she placed it on the coffee table as she replied. "Well you sleep over. Why are you asking?"

Olive huffed, tossing her jacket off and onto the couch. "Jo, the new girl, invited me to her 16th birthday party. Which I guess is a sleepover. And y'know. I've never been to one."

Wren's eyes widened and immediately Olive regretted telling her sister. Every time Olive got the chance to go and do quote, 'normal kid' things, Wren would get overly enthusiastic about it.

Olive knew that Wren felt guilt over how much of Olive's childhood had been spent in courtrooms and at therapist's offices. It wasn't Wren's fault that their parents had just given up on Olive, and dropped her off at her sister's doorstep.

But guilt was guilt. It didn't care what the truth of the matter was.

"A sleepover! Oh Ollie baby, that's so exciting. Mi hermanita está creciendo."

Olive rolled her eys as Wren stood up and began pressing kisses all over her face, surely smudging her signature red lipstick all over her face as well.

"Let me go! God this is why I didn't want to tell you. It's just a sleepover. It's not like I'm getting married."

Wren snorted, finally pulling away.

"You would have eventually. C'mon. I'll let you borrow one of my matching pajama sets. Much better than those godawful pajama shorts you like to sleep in."

"Hey!" Olive protested as her sister dragged her out of their living room and towards Wren's bedroom, "Those shorts are vintage!"

"Yeah." Wren snorted. "And they deserve to be taken out back and put out of their misery."
