"So what was juvie like?" Kendall asked, and Olive raised her eyebrows at him.
It had a few weeks since she had initially been dragged into the boys' shenanigans and as much as she refused to admit it, she did enjoy hanging out with them.
They were funny, filled with chaotic energy and though she would never admit it outloud, they were cute.
However their cuteness didn't negate the fact that they were teenage boys, and that meant that they often would say and do stupid shit.
"It was prison?" Olive responded, a scoff escaping her lips. "It sucked okay. I was there for three months. The bed felt like cardboard. My roommate was an ass. And I had therapy sessions every day."
"Hmm." Kendall hummed. Olive shook her head at him.
"Why are you so interested anyway?"
The blonde haired boy shrugged. "I don't know. I've only ever been temporarily held in a jail cell. And I got bailed out within ten minutes every time."
"You went to jail?" Olive asked, a brow raised. Sure Kendall pulled off the bad boy aesthetic, but there was no way he was devious enough to do anything that was seriously bad.
"Yeah. For pranks and shit. And technically the night we met Gustavo. We got arrested for damage to property and being public nuisances."
Olive laughed, eyes crinkling. In turn, Kendall rolled his eyes.
"That is so you." She said and he simply looked away. She shifted in her spot on the picnic bench. "Look. I don't talk about my past because I'm not proud of it. It sucks having anger issues and everyone just expecting you to fly off the handle all the time."
"Yeah." Kendall said, his eyes meeting hers. "Everyone thinks you're just a ticking time bomb."
"Exactly." Olive said, tucking her hair behind her ears. "I just want to have one person where I'm just Olive. Not the girl who went to jail. Not the girl with anger issues. Just Olive."
Kendall nodded. "You'll find it. I'm sure of it."
Olive scoffed. That was beyond unlikely, she thought.

"I'm just saying, maybe I don't know... talking to her might get you somewhere further than just following her around." Olive suggested, and Kendall rolled his eyes.
"Yeah like you snarking after Logan is getting you anywhere."
The Latina glared at him. "I don't know what you're talking about." She said and Kendall simply raised a bushy brow.
Sometimes Olive hated how perceptive the blonde could be. She had only known him for three weeks, and yet it felt like he knew better than she knew herself sometimes.
She turned away, watching as Jo flipped through a magazine. Kendall's eyes followed the trace of Jo's fingers on the paper. It was almost comical how mesmerized he was.
"She's so pretty." He murmured.
"She's so boring." Olive grumbled. "I don't get it. Why are you all so obsessed with her!" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest. Kendall looked at her out of his peripheral vision.
"She's normal. She's not obsessed with fame like the Jennifers, or too self involved like Camille. Or..." He paused, looking at Olive.
Silence for a moment.
"Or what?" Olive asked, turning her gaze back onto him.
"Or too good at lying. You know that Logan really wants to get to know you. Right?"
