chap 18

vee's pov:

I woke up with kai still in my arms I quickly got out of bed and checked around the house to see if ddot made it home. I found him lying on the couch knocked out with his shoes still on. I shook my head and hurried back upstairs to shower before Kairi wakes up.

I got out the shower n both boys were still sleep I got dressed and decided to prepare a big breakfast. I made waffles eggs bacon sausage, and grits with smoothies, apple juice and orange juice. Once plates were made I put all leftovers in the fridge and cleaned up I then went to wake up these sleepy heads. 

"Kairi wakey wakeyyy" I said shaking his softly "hmm is my mommy coming to get me now" he asked half awake rubbing his eyes "uhh no baby not yet you may spend the day with us idk yet tho" I said as memories of last night flashed in my head. "is mommy and daddy okay" he asked looking a little sad "ofc man man they js need a little time alone" I say telling the half truth. "but heyyy I made breakfast You hungry??" his face lit up at the mention of food. by the time we got downstairs dot fat ass was already almost done with his food. I started recording him with the sound "damn she shall can put it away" (ion remember the exact words but hopefully y'all know what I mean)

"bro stop playing delete dat shii" dot says as he tries to grab my phone I pop the back of his head "don't cuss in front of Kairi" we both look at Kairi as he's beginning to eat his breakfast. he looks up n smiles "its okay daddy say bad words aaaaalll da time" he then began laughing and went back to his food. I shake my head n turn my attention back on ddot. I lowered my voice too a whisper "Any news on nariah" I asked he shrugged his shoulders "not much changed since u left but she should be getting released later tdy" I nod my head and sit down to eat. ddot came up behind me and lifted me out my seat then placed me in his lap. I just continued to eat my food until he thought it was a good idea to grab a piece of my bacon I popped his hand so quickly "un un boy get ya own the leftovers are in the fridge" he sighed "But I want this oneeee" he whined while trying to get the piece of meat back. I gave in and gave him the bacon but devoured the rest of my food before he could take anything else.

time skip to a few hours later

Nariah js got released from the hospital so we are getting ready to go to her house to check on her. "Kai Kai u readyyy" I called out from downstairs darrian wanted to get him ready and they disappeared up there about half an hour ago. I got no response so I went up there to see what was happening. They have been pretty quiet... too quiet. I made it to the guest room and watched ddot interact with Kairi. I rubbed my swollen belly thinking about our future baby and how good of a father he will be. "ma u ihh?" ddot said snapping me out of my thoughts. That's when I noticed a few tears down my face. "huh..uh yeah mhm are yall ready to go?" I asked wiping my face. They both nodded and Kairi grabbed my hand. we made our way to the car. "are u excited to see yo mommy and daddy" I asked smiling at Kairi "not really" he said looking down. "why not Kai, what's wrong?" I asked buckling his last buckle. "mommy and daddy always fighting. They don't love each other no more" I look at ddot with a worried face "wym they always fighting? I'm sure they still love each other bub" I said rubbing his hands. "NO Mommy always crying and fighting with daddy at night," he says crying I sigh. "its going to be okay buddy" I get in the passenger seat and we head on to Nana's house. 

We made it to her house and hopped out. I carried Kai up the steps and knocked on the door. dd answered with red-rimmed eyes and messy hair. "oh hunny....." I said placing Kairi down "you look a mess," I said shaking my head as dd and ddot dapped each either up "I'm gonna go see mommy" Kairi said running up the stairs. I follow him and we enter her room she's lying down crying with a half-drunken bottle of wine . "oh lord" I mumbled to myself. "mommyyyy are u okayyy" he said crying running to her. "yeah baby I'm fine" she sniffles and looks up at me "uhh thank you for watching him I guess I gotta get myself tg huh" she says looking around her wreck of a room embarrassed. "ykw Kai can stay with us for the rest of the week u focus on getting yourself back together I got u don't worry" I said. Nana started crying harder "you would do that for me " she asked sobbing "ofcc boo wtv u need" I say as I start to clean up "I'll js get the house cleaned cook yall some food and pack Kairi's stuff and u can js relax," I say as I pick up dirty clothes off the floor.

After cleaning the whole house, and meal prepping for dd and Nana it was like 4 pm. I decided to do dd's hair to help pamper him bc he is also going through a rough time. I twisted his hair and then did some braids on Nana after making her shower for the first time in the past 2 days. they looked so much better and their house smells better. ddot packed Kai's suitcase for me and we were getting ready to leave."yo gang I really appreciate u doin dis fa us we got make it up to you when we get back on our feet ya heard" dd said as he walked us to the for "nahh bro don't worry bout it u straight" dot said dapping him up.

We got in the car and Kai started to complain that he was hungry bc he aint wanna eat what I cooked smh. "ohh huh man what u want eat" dot said looking back at Kai for a second "I wan McDonalds" he said with a big smile on his face "alright McDonalds it is" I say clapping my hands "can we go to the play place..?" Kai asked from the backseat. "I haven't been in a McDonalds play place in yearssss let's gooo" I said feeling my inner child's approval. 

we pulled up to the Mcdonald's but they didn't have a play place so we had to drive allll the way to a new one. That one had a play place so as me and Kai played dot ordered our food. I was talking to Kai as he was at the top of the tower things and laughing when some white lady came up to me "aren't you ashamed of yourself" she asked as her little boy who looked about kai's age hid behind her. "excuse me?" I asked confused as to what she was talking act "I mean look at you. you look as if you are in your early 20's and your'e a single mother and your'e pregnant" she said shaking her head as she gestures to kai and my small baby bump "please do not speak on something you know nothing about" I say trying to stay calm in front of Kairi and the lady's son. "I mean you probably have 2 baby daddy's huh" she says laughing. my eyes began to water at the words she was spewing. before I could speak up dot came up with our food. "oh n u must be baby daddy number 2" the lady says smirking "huh" dot says looking hella confused "I was just talking to your little fling over here about the fact that she has a kid and another otw at such a young age its disgusting how could you get her pregnant knowing she already had a baby from a previous rls this is ridiculous " she rants dot shook his head laughing "bro words ma dead stop talking bout my wife like dat that's her nephew in der we watching him cs his mom had a miscarriage not that its any of yo fuck ass business. n I'm ha one and only baby daddy forever, you coulda kept yo opinions to yaself on bro" dot says setting down our food "omg.. I.. I didn't know I'm so sorry" the white lady stammers but its too late I already let the waterworks flow.

We told Kai it was time to leave and he was upset at first but when he saw my face he kinda understood. on the car ride home, I was silent.
