Rosalie

From a few tables away, a small whisper reached my ears.

"I would change your plans for Saturday, Rose." It was Alice. While she, or anyone from my family, wasn't looking at Bella and I, I could tell she was only semi-paying attention to our conversation. "Future forecast, it's going to be bright and sunny!"

"Great," I whispered far too quietly for the girl across from me could hear. I slightly raised my voice for Bella to hear. "Did you actually need to go to Seattle this weekend or was that a lie to get Jessica off your ass?"

"Ah, right," Bella sighed. "I did want to go but if you're offering a different suggestion, I'm for it."

"Would you allow me to take you on another date, then?" I asked.

A smile appeared on her face. "You got me two-to-zero, Rose. You have to let me catch up."

"We can count this one as yours still, seeing how you made the plans first," I teased. "Is that a yes?"

"Absolutely," she grinned. "Where are we going?"

"The weather will be nice," I said, drawing out my words. "So, I would have to stay away from the public eye—"

Bella quickly interrupted me, her eyes bright and eager. "And you'll show me what you meant, about the sun?"

"Mhm." I couldn't help but be charmed by her happiness about something so small. "Hopefully you won't mind us being completely alone together."

I could see her blush covering her usual pale cheeks at my words; she was too easy sometimes.

"As it happens, I don't mind being alone with you," she said.

"Good."

"Oh please!" Said a more masculine, yet whiney voice. Edward broke my concentration away from my mate. I already know what he thought of Bella, of exactly how much Bella already knew. I glanced back to see Edward glowering furiously, but I couldn't care. Let him throw his bitch-fit.

"Hey, let's talk about something else," Bella suggested suddenly.

I looked back at her. Her eyes were filled with worry, probably at my now irritated face thanks to that red headed prick.

"What do you want to talk about?"

Her eyes darted to the lack of people around us, possibly making sure there were no eavesdroppers. She must want to talk about another vampire related topic. Her pretty brown eyes moved to the table behind me before talking.

"Why did you go to that Goat Rocks place last weekend...to hunt? Charlie said it wasn't a good place to hike, because of bears."

So pretty, but so oblivious. I raised a single eyebrow at her.

"Duh, bears," she whispered to herself.

"Yeah, just go ahead and tell her fucking everything, Rosalie," Edward said sarcastically. "It's not like we have rules."

Another voice joined his one sided conversation. "Ed, knock it off." Emmett's voice was unusually stern. Edward only huffed at his mate's words.

Bella continued. "I thought bears weren't in season?"

"The laws only cover hunting with weapons," I explained easily.

"Bears?" She said again, more of a question this time. "Okay, I'm trying to picture it—but I can't. How do you hunt without weapons?"

I felt a slight pinch in my gums as I let my fang elongate. I lifted up one corner of my lip to show her. The tooth was sharp, able to pierce through flesh as if it was wet paper. I heard her take a sharp intake of breath at the long canine.

"How come I never saw them?" She whispered.

"We're able to retract them," I said, letting my teeth go back to normal.

The cafeteria was almost empty at this point, only a few dozen straggles who would wait until the last minute to leave for class. Our hour was almost up.

"We should get to class. Don't want to be late," I teased, reaching for her hand to pull her with me.

Ever since that night in Port Angeles, I felt as if I could never get enough of her touch. I hope she doesn't mind my new found love language.

Everyone watched us as we walked together to our lab table. I angled my chair closer to Bella, our arms brushing against each other.

Mr. Banner backed into the room, pulling in an old TV behind him. It was probably one of those days where he couldn't care too much about teaching, just letting us watch an educational film for the hour.

When he turned off the lights, there wasn't much of a difference for me. I could still see just as perfectly as before, considering that the lack of light meant little to my eyes. Every detail of the room was clear.

So why the sudden shock of electricity in the air?

My hand moved toward her, brushing up against her knuckle as the movie started. Not holding it but neither of us moved away. About thirty minutes in, Bella moved to lean the upper half of her body to lay on the table, hiding her hands underneath her.

I huffed, too quietly for her to hear. So, I move to carefully tangle my fingers in her short, brown strands, earning a soft sigh. Good, she seemed to be enjoying my touch.

We spent the rest of the movie like that, everyone else just disappearing. I didn't care too much for the movie, I'm sure I've seen it before, But Bella seemed to be paying attention. However, she also looked close to sleeping.

Then, Mr. Banner turned the lights back on when the movie ended. Neither of us seemed particularly happy.

"Nice nap?" I jokingly asked. I received a slight laugh as Bella ranked her fingers through her slightly mussed hair.

The walk to her gym class was a quiet one. She didn't seem too happy about going but wasn't willing to skip. Bella turned to face me at the gym door, eyes widening at my sudden closeness. There was almost no one in the hallway, so I had no issue with pressing my lips onto hers. Ever since the movie, I've been wanting this but never had the right time.
But now it seemed perfect.

Her hands made themselves at home on my waist; she seemed to like that area. My thumb stroked the soft skin of her cheek, feeling it become warm under my touch.

Much to my surprise, we got interrupted.

"Oh, shit!" It was Bella's friend, Mike. "Sorry! Sorry, Bella. A-And Rosalie."

"It's okay, Mike," Bella said, rubbing the back of her neck. "Rose, I'll see you later?"

I only nodded, sparing a glance to the boy who was avoiding my gaze. And when my back was turned, I lightly touched my lips with the tips of my fingers.

I don't think I could get used to kissing her.
