The apartment was bathed in the soft light of late afternoon, casting a peaceful glow over everything. Zee and Nunew were sitting on the couch, enjoying the quiet moments that came after the intensity of their rut and heat had finally passed. The bond they shared had deepened, their connection now more solid than ever.

Nunew was curled up against Zee's side, his head resting on Zee's shoulder, as they lazily watched the sunset. The calm after the storm had brought with it a sense of relief and clarity, allowing them to reflect on their future in a way that felt both exciting and reassuring.

Nunew gently traced the outline of Zee's hand with his fingers, feeling the warmth and strength in his mate's touch. His mind drifted to the conversations they had shared before their heat and rut, especially the one about what they both wanted for the future.

"Hia," Nunew whispered, his voice soft but filled with meaning. "Do you still remember what we talked about before? About having kids one day?"

Zee's chest rumbled softly with a chuckle as he nodded. "Of course, I remember. I don't forget things like that."

Nunew smiled to himself, feeling a warmth bloom in his chest at the thought. He remembered the way Zee had spoken about it with so much certainty, how sure he was that one day, they'd have a family of their own. It had been one of the most intimate conversations they had ever shared, discussing their dreams for the future.

Zee shifted slightly so he could look at Nunew's face. His gaze softened, full of love as he spoke. "I still want that, Nhu. I want to have kids with you, to build a family together. Two little ones running around would make this place feel complete, don't you think?"

Nunew's eyes sparkled with excitement. He had always loved the idea of having children, especially with Zee. The thought of being parents together filled him with joy. He imagined a small child with Zee's strength and his own soft features, maybe another with his playful nature and Zee's fierce protectiveness.

"Two sounds perfect," Nunew said, nodding in agreement. "I've always thought about it too. Just one or two... enough to fill our lives with even more love."

Zee smiled at Nunew's words, pulling him closer. "I've thought about it a lot. I want to give them everything we never had. A home full of love, support, and safety. Somewhere they can always feel safe to be themselves, just like we do with each other."

Nunew's heart swelled at that. He knew how much Zee valued family, especially given the challenges he had faced in his own life. The idea of building something beautiful together, something that was theirs, made Nunew feel more connected to Zee than ever.

"Do you think we'll be good parents?" Nunew asked quietly, looking up at Zee with wide, thoughtful eyes. "I mean, it's a lot of responsibility."

Zee gazed at him for a moment before answering, his expression serious yet full of conviction. "We'll be the best parents we can be, Nuh. We'll figure it out as we go, just like we've figured out everything else together. And we'll have each other through it all."

Nunew smiled softly at that. "Yeah, you're right. As long as we're together, we can handle anything."

Zee pressed a kiss to the top of Nunew's head, his fingers gently running through his hair. "You'll be an amazing parent. I can already see it. You're so caring, so full of love. Our kids will be lucky to have you."

Nunew's cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment, but he couldn't hide his happiness. "And you'll be the best dad, Hia. You're strong, protective, and you always know how to make things feel safe."

Zee chuckled, the sound deep and warm. "We'll make a good team."

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, both lost in their thoughts about what the future would hold. It was a future they had dreamed of together-a life full of love, with their bond as the foundation and children to bring even more joy into their world.

"Maybe... one day soon, we can start thinking about it more seriously," Nunew said softly, his hand resting gently over Zee's heart. "When we're ready, of course."

Zee's heart fluttered at the thought. "Yeah... one day soon," he echoed, his voice filled with the same hope. "When the time is right, we'll know. And we'll make that dream come true."

Nunew smiled at him, his heart light as he thought about the family they would one day have. It was a distant dream, but now it felt so much closer, like something they could almost reach out and touch.

For now, they had each other, and that was enough. But the future stretched out before them, full of possibilities and promises waiting to be fulfilled.

And when the time came, Zee and Nunew knew they would be ready to face it together, hand in hand, just as they always had.
