---2 months later----

The soft morning light streamed into the bedroom, gently waking Zee as he stretched in bed. He shifted slightly, feeling the warmth of Nunew curled up beside him. Zee’s eyes softened as they landed on his mate, still sleeping peacefully.

Nunew was facing him, his hand resting gently over the small but noticeable bump on his belly. It was subtle, but unmistakable—their pup was growing, and with it, a new chapter in their lives was beginning.

Zee couldn’t help but smile as he ran his fingers softly along the curve of Nunew’s bump. His heart swelled with a sense of pride and love that was almost overwhelming. Nunew stirred under his touch, blinking his eyes open slowly and letting out a soft sigh.

"Morning, Hia," Nunew whispered sleepily, his voice laced with warmth.

"Morning, baby," Zee replied, leaning down to press a soft kiss to Nunew’s forehead. "How are you feeling?"

Nunew shifted slightly, his hand resting over Zee’s. "I’m okay… a little sore, but nothing too bad."

Zee’s eyes were full of concern, though he tried to keep his tone light. "Do you want me to get you anything? Breakfast in bed, maybe?"

Nunew smiled softly, shaking his head. "I’m alright. I think I just need to stretch a bit. Besides," he glanced down at his belly with a small grin, "it’s still strange seeing this bump. It’s like… everything’s really starting to feel real."

Zee’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of Nunew’s growing belly. His hand remained gently on the bump, tracing small circles as if to connect more deeply with the life inside. "It’s amazing, isn’t it? Our little one is in there."

Nunew nodded, his eyes softening with emotion. "Yeah… it still feels surreal, but every day I’m getting more excited."

Zee’s expression mirrored Nunew’s, his voice quiet but filled with reverence. "I can’t believe how lucky we are. You’re already glowing, Nuh. You’re so beautiful."

Nunew blushed, his gaze dropping slightly as he playfully swatted Zee’s arm. "Stop, Hia, you’re embarrassing me."

Zee chuckled, leaning in to kiss him again, this time on the lips. "I mean it. You’re carrying our pup—how could I not think you’re the most beautiful person in the world?"

Nunew’s hand found Zee’s, squeezing it lightly. "I’m just glad we’re in this together. I couldn’t imagine doing this without you."

Zee’s gaze softened, and he gently pulled Nunew closer, resting his forehead against his. "You’ll never have to. I’m with you every step of the way. We’re in this as a family now."

Nunew’s smile widened at the word "family." It felt so right, so comforting. They had talked about their future together many times, but now, with the baby growing inside of him, it felt more real than ever.

"I wonder what they’ll be like," Nunew mused, his fingers absentmindedly tracing circles on his belly. "Do you think they’ll look more like you or me?"

Zee chuckled, shrugging slightly. "Hopefully a mix of both. Though, I wouldn’t mind if they got your eyes. They’re my favorite part of you."

Nunew laughed softly, nudging Zee playfully. "You’re so cheesy, Hia."

"Only for you," Zee replied with a wink.

As the morning passed, the two of them remained in bed, wrapped up in each other’s warmth and the quiet excitement of their growing family. They talked about their future, about baby names, and what kind of parents they wanted to be. It was peaceful and intimate, just the two of them sharing their hopes and dreams.

Eventually, Nunew shifted in Zee’s arms, glancing up at him with a thoughtful expression. "Hia… do you think we’re really ready for this? Being parents, I mean?"

Zee looked down at him, his gaze steady and filled with confidence. "I think we’ll learn as we go. But we’re ready, Nuh. We’ve got each other, and we’ve got a lot of love to give. That’s what matters."

Nunew’s heart felt full as he listened to Zee’s reassuring words. "Yeah… you’re right. I just want to be the best parent I can be."

"You already are," Zee said softly. "You’re doing amazing, Nuh. And our pup is so lucky to have you."

Nunew smiled up at Zee, his eyes shimmering with emotion. "I’m lucky too, Hia. I couldn’t have asked for a better mate."

Zee leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Nunew’s lips, and whispered, "I love you, Nuh."

"I love you too," Nunew whispered back, his hand resting protectively over his belly, where their future lay quietly growing, safe and sound.

And in that moment, surrounded by love, everything felt just right.
