Nunew stood in front of the mirror, gently smoothing his hand over his stomach. He was only four weeks pregnant, so there wasn't any noticeable change yet, but it still felt surreal to know that there was a tiny life growing inside him. A baby-a part of both him and Zee. The thought made his heart swell with love and a bit of nervous excitement.

Zee had been incredibly supportive since Nunew had shared the news. Every day, Zee seemed to shower him with even more care and affection, always checking on him, making sure he was comfortable, and giving him gentle reminders to rest when needed. But there was one thing Nunew had noticed recently that seemed to catch Zee's attention more than anything: his scent had changed slightly.

At first, Nunew hadn't noticed it. But Zee, with his heightened senses, picked up on the shift almost immediately. It wasn't a drastic change, but there was something softer, more calming about Nunew's scent. It was still uniquely his own, but now it carried a subtle hint of something else-something new and delicate, like the promise of life.

Zee never complained about it. In fact, he seemed to love it even more than before. Every time he got close to Nunew, Zee would lean in and breathe deeply, as if savoring the new layers of his mate's scent. It was their pup-Nunew's body was changing to protect and nurture the baby growing inside him, and that change had already made itself known in the way Nunew smelled.

This morning was no different. As Nunew stepped out of the bedroom and into the living room, Zee, who was sitting at the table with his laptop, looked up. A warm smile spread across Zee's face as soon as he saw him.

"Morning, Nuh," Zee greeted, his voice soft and full of affection. He stood up, crossing the room in a few steps to pull Nunew into his arms.

"Morning, Hia," Nunew said, smiling up at him.

Zee leaned down, brushing his nose lightly against Nunew's neck, inhaling the familiar yet slightly altered scent that had become his favorite thing lately. "Your scent," Zee murmured against his skin. "It's different, but... it's even more comforting now."

Nunew blushed slightly, leaning into Zee's touch. "You've said that a lot recently."

Zee chuckled, pulling back to look into Nunew's eyes. "I can't help it. It smells like our baby is already a part of you. I love it."

Nunew's heart fluttered at Zee's words, warmth spreading through his chest. Even though they were still early in the pregnancy, Zee already seemed so connected to the idea of becoming a father. It made Nunew feel even more confident that they were going to be great parents.

As they sat down for breakfast, Nunew felt a small pang of nerves, knowing that today was a big day. It was time for their first doctor's appointment, and while everything seemed to be going smoothly, he couldn't help but feel a little anxious about hearing how their baby was doing.

Luckily, the doctor they were seeing was someone Nunew trusted deeply-Nat, an old friend from college. Nat was one of the best doctors when it came to handling pregnancies for omegas, and Nunew knew he was in good hands. Still, the reality of the situation made his stomach flip with anticipation.

"You ready for today?" Zee asked gently, noticing the thoughtful look on Nunew's face.

Nunew nodded, giving Zee a small smile. "Yeah. It's just a little nerve-wracking, you know? It's our first time seeing the doctor about... the baby."

Zee reached across the table, taking Nunew's hand in his. "I know, but we'll be fine. Nat's a good doctor, right? And more importantly, you're healthy. You and our pup are going to be just fine."

Nunew squeezed Zee's hand, grateful for the reassurance. "You're right. I'm just overthinking it."

Zee smiled, leaning over to press a soft kiss to Nunew's forehead. "Let's just take it one step at a time."

A few hours later, they found themselves sitting in the waiting room of Nat's clinic. Nunew was bouncing his leg nervously, while Zee sat beside him, a calming presence as always. It wasn't long before Nat, a tall, kind-faced man with a reassuring smile, stepped out to greet them.

"Nunew!" Nat said, his eyes lighting up when he saw his old friend. "It's been a while."

Nunew smiled as he stood up, giving Nat a small hug. "Yeah, it's good to see you, Nat. Thanks for making time for us."

"Of course," Nat replied, glancing between Nunew and Zee with a knowing smile. "I wouldn't miss this for the world. Let's get you both settled in."

As they followed Nat into the examination room, Nunew's nerves returned, but Zee's hand on his lower back helped steady him. Once they were seated, Nat turned to them with a reassuring smile.

"Alright, Nunew, you're about four weeks along now, right?" Nat asked, flipping through his notes. "How have you been feeling so far?"

Nunew nodded, glancing at Zee before answering. "I've been feeling okay. A little tired sometimes, but nothing too bad."

"That's normal," Nat said with a nod. "Your body is adjusting to the pregnancy, so it's completely normal to feel a little more fatigued than usual. We'll keep an eye on your energy levels, but for now, everything sounds like it's progressing smoothly."

Nunew relaxed a little at Nat's words, but the real relief came when Nat performed the ultrasound. The sound of their baby's heartbeat filled the room-a soft, steady rhythm that made both Nunew and Zee's eyes widen with awe.

"There's your little one," Nat said with a smile, pointing to the small shape on the screen. "Everything looks healthy so far. You're doing great, Nunew."

Zee squeezed Nunew's hand tightly, his eyes glued to the screen. "That's... that's our baby," he whispered, his voice filled with wonder.

Nunew blinked back the tears that threatened to fall, his heart swelling with emotion as he stared at the image on the screen. Their baby. It was real.

Nat finished up the check-up, giving them both a list of things to keep in mind as the pregnancy progressed. As they left the clinic, Nunew felt a mix of relief and excitement. Knowing that their baby was healthy and growing filled him with a sense of peace.

As they walked to the car, Zee slipped his arm around Nunew's waist, pulling him close. "I'm proud of you," Zee said softly, his voice full of love. "You're already doing an amazing job."

Nunew leaned into him, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. "Thank you, Hia. I couldn't do this without you."

Zee smiled down at him, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "We're in this together, Nuh. Every step of the way."

As they drove home, the excitement of what lay ahead settled in even deeper. Their baby was on the way, and they were more ready than ever to face the future as a family.
