The sun hung high in the sky, casting long, golden rays over the set, and the warmth of the afternoon settled into a lull as the cast and crew took a break. Charlize sat in a quiet corner of the lot, away from the hustle of the set, nursing a bottle of water. Her eyes scanned the horizon, though her thoughts were elsewhere. She had been thinking about Elise—more than she probably should.

Elise had always seemed untouchable to her, a figure of grace and professionalism, admired from a distance. But lately, that distance felt like it was closing, even if just a little. Their on-screen chemistry was undeniable, but beyond the roles they played, Charlize found herself wanting to know the real Elise, the woman behind the icy exterior.

As she mulled over her thoughts, she saw Elise walking across the lot, her steps measured, her face slightly drawn with fatigue. Something about the way Elise carried herself today seemed... different. There was a vulnerability in her expression that Charlize hadn't noticed before, something softer.

Without thinking, Charlize stood up and called out, "P'Elise!"

Elise stopped and turned, her eyes narrowing slightly in curiosity as she saw Charlize approaching. For a moment, it looked like she was debating whether to engage, but after a pause, she gave a small nod and walked over.

"What's up?" Elise asked, her voice as calm and composed as ever, but Charlize noticed the faint hint of weariness in her tone.

Charlize hesitated for a beat, trying to gather her thoughts. "I just... thought maybe we could talk. It's been a pretty intense week with all the scenes we've been filming."

Elise raised an eyebrow but didn't walk away. "Talk about what?"

Charlize gestured to a small bench nearby. "Just, you know, about the project... life in the industry... whatever. I feel like we've been spending so much time as Nam and Raya that we haven't really gotten to know each other."

Elise's guarded expression softened just a fraction, and after a moment's hesitation, she nodded and sat down on the bench. Charlize followed suit, the proximity between them both comforting and nerve-wracking.

They sat in silence for a few beats, neither one quite knowing where to start. Charlize glanced at Elise, noticing the way the sunlight played across her features, catching the slight furrow in her brow. Elise seemed deep in thought, her usual cool demeanor still present but more approachable somehow.

"I, uh, wanted to say," Charlize began, her voice quieter than usual. "I've been a fan of yours for a long time. Even before we started working together. You've always been this... this person I looked up to in the industry. The way you handle yourself, your performances... they're incredible."

Elise didn't immediately respond, her eyes fixed on the horizon. Charlize felt a flicker of panic, wondering if she'd said too much, been too honest. But just as she was about to backtrack, Elise finally spoke, her voice soft.

"Thank you," she said, turning her gaze to Charlize. "That means a lot, especially coming from you."

Charlize blinked, surprised by the sincerity in Elise's tone. She hadn't expected that kind of response. "From me?"

Elise smiled faintly, though there was something bittersweet in it. "Yes. You've done so much in such a short amount of time. People respect you, admire your work... I see how the crew lights up when you're around. You have this... energy."

Charlize felt a warmth spread through her chest at Elise's words. "I never really thought about it that way," she admitted. "Honestly, I've always been so focused on trying to prove myself. This industry is... hard, you know?"
