Tae's heart skipped a beat when he noticed the bedroom door slightly ajar. He immediately sat up, glancing down at Jungkook, who was still fast asleep beside him. Panic began to rise in his chest. If the door was open, it meant his mom had likely seen them together.
He slowly got out of bed, trying not to wake Jungkook. Quietly, he approached the door, peeking out into the hallway. There was no sign of his mother, but the realization that she had probably seen them still lingered.
Tae sighed softly, running a hand through his hair. He wasn't sure how he would explain this to her. He wasn't ready for her to know about his relationship with Jungkook, especially given how much she feared and distrusted him. The thought of her reaction made his stomach twist.
He glanced back at Jungkook, still sleeping peacefully. Tae knew he had to face this, but the conversation with his mom wouldn't be easy.
As Tae reached for the door handle, Jungkook's hand shot out, grabbing his wrist and pulling him back with a firm but gentle tug. Tae stumbled slightly, landing on Jungkook's lap. His breath hitched when he felt Jungkook's warm breath on his ear as he whispered, "Where are you going, Tae?"
Tae shivered at the sound of Jungkook's deep voice, feeling a familiar heat spread across his cheeks. He glanced over his shoulder, meeting Jungkook's teasing gaze. "I was just going to check if my mom... you know, saw us," Tae mumbled, trying to compose himself.
Jungkook smirked, his arms wrapping around Tae's waist as he leaned in closer, his lips brushing Tae's ear. "Let her see," he whispered seductively. "Maybe she'll realize how much I love you."
Tae's heart raced, torn between the seriousness of the situation and the playful desire in Jungkook's voice. "You're impossible," Tae muttered, though he couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips as he rested his hands on Jungkook's chest.
Tae and Jungkook quietly stepped out of the bedroom, exchanging a glance of mutual understanding. As they entered the main hall, they saw Tae's mom sitting on the sofa, her eyes fixed on the TV screen. The soft glow of the television illuminated her calm expression, though the tension in the air was palpable.
Tae cleared his throat nervously, trying to gauge whether his mother had seen anything earlier. "Good morning, Mom," he greeted, his voice a little too cheerful.
Mrs. Kim glanced up from the TV and gave a small smile, but her eyes flicked briefly to Jungkook, then back to her son. "Good morning, Tae," she replied. "I didn't want to disturb you two earlier... you seemed, um, busy."
Tae's heart skipped a beat as his cheeks flushed red. Jungkook, standing beside him, hid a smirk behind his hand, clearly enjoying the awkward tension. "We weren't—" Tae began to say, but his mom waved her hand dismissively.
"It's alright, Tae," she said, her tone gentle. "Just... be careful." She gave a meaningful look to Jungkook, who nodded respectfully, the playful glint in his eyes softening.
Tae shifted awkwardly. "Mom, I—"
"It's okay, really," she reassured him, her smile warm now. "I just want you to be happy. Both of you."
Tae felt a wave of relief wash over him. His mom wasn't angry, just... concerned. He glanced at Jungkook, who gave him a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. It was clear that despite everything, Mrs. Kim was coming to terms with her son's relationship, even if it wasn't exactly what she expected.
As Jungkook and Tae settled on the couch, Tae's mother excused herself to give them some space. They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of their plan hanging in the air. Jungkook leaned forward, his voice low and serious.
