Aria's POV:
After a restless night, the first light of dawn gently filtered through my window, casting a warm glow over the room. The soft morning breeze carried the salty tang of the sea, coaxing me out of bed with a renewed sense of determination. I felt a mix of anticipation and nervous excitement as I prepared for my early morning swim.
I made my way to the beach, the cool sand crunching beneath my feet. The early sun cast long, golden shadows, and the ocean sparkled under its first light, inviting me in. Each step took me deeper, and as the water reached my waist, I dove in, the gentle plunge creating a splash that seemed to shimmer like diamonds in the sunlight.
The same tingling feeling washed over me. My body began to transforming and soon my tail emerged from where my legs had been.
My tail was the same vivid orange with the orange-scaled top that felt like a part of me. No longer did I feel my legs. A sense of disappointment washed over me, this felt like another reminder that my life would no longer be normal again.
"This isn't what I expected," I muttered to myself.. "Being a mermaid... it's not exactly what I had in mind."
Ignoring the overwhelming feeling, I decided to go underwater and explore my new tail. The underwater world around me was captivating. Schools of colourful fish darted around, their scales catching the light as they moved gracefully through the water. I tried to focus on the beauty of my surroundings, but the fear of the unknown overshadowed everything else. My heart raced with each new sensation, and the initial excitement had turned into anxious apprehension.
I swam further from the shore, the deepening blue of the ocean contrasting with the pale turquoise near the surface. The sensation of the water surrounding me was both exhilarating and unnerving. Every movement felt fluid, and the water's cool embrace was both calming and invigorating. My tail, now an integral part of my being, moved with an effortless grace that I had to admit was fascinating.
As I moved through the water, my long brown hair flowed around me like a cascading curtain. I was mesmerized by the intricate patterns and colors of the corals. The coral formations seemed to come alive with every movement, their colors shifting and shimmering in the filtered sunlight. I watched in awe as schools of small fish wove through the coral branches, their tails flickering like tiny stars in the dim light.
Despite the beauty of my surroundings, a nagging sense of confusion lingered. I had questions that I struggled to answer. How did this happen? What did it mean? The underwater world was breathtaking, but it was also filled with uncertainties. I felt disoriented, like I was part of a dream I couldn't quite wake up from.
