The next morning as Wonwoo came out onto the back porch, mug in hand, he could still smell the summer rain scent that clung in the air. It made him smile as he remembered the events of the previous night, the kiss in the rain, and the alpha's touching confession. He settled in his spot on the porch swing, knees curled under him, and listened to the lovely sounds he had begun to associate with his mornings. Yipping wolves, running feet, Mingyu's voice calling out commands. These ordinary sounds made him smile as he sipped his coffee.

He heard Mingyu dismiss the wolves much earlier than usual and the slightly squishy sound of his footsteps on wet earth as he approached, turning to thuds as he came up the steps and onto the porch. He felt the swing jostle and sway as Mingyu settled next to him and he turned toward the alpha.

"Good morning," Wonwoo said softly as he reached to the side and felt for the little table he knew was there to set his coffee down.

"Good morning."

Wonwoo reached his hands toward Mingyu and the alpha met him halfway. Wonwoo smiled as he laced their fingers together. He pedaled their hands in the air a few times with a giggle, and he heard Mingyu's soft laugh. He gave his hands a squeeze before releasing them and feeling his way up the alpha's arms to his neck, then to his face. He cupped his jaw as he leaned forward and raised up slightly on his knees to press a soft kiss to the alpha's lips.

Wonwoo pressed a series of soft pecks against Mingyu's lips, feeling them returned by the small movements of the alpha's mouth. His lips were just as soft as he'd remembered. He wanted nothing more than to keep pressing little kisses to his mouth all day, but he pulled back reluctantly. He felt Mingyu move. Soft fingertips brushed over his cheek. That simple touch was earth-shattering in its effect on his body. At that moment, Wonwoo realized how starved he was for touch. He turned his face into the palm and nuzzled against it with his cheek, feeling a soft purr build in his chest as he pressed a small kiss to the wrist.

Mingyu was floored by Wonwoo's reaction to his touch. He thought that Wonwoo was like a kitten, small and soft as he rubbed against his hand and purred. The alpha realized that he must be just as neglected as him with physical affection. He doubted anyone touched Wonwoo outside of a hand or arm to help guide him. His students who hugged him or played with his hair were one thing, a good thing even, but not the same as a lover's touch. Mingyu wanted this man so badly. Not just physical desire, his heart ached for his closeness, to hold him, to have someone to care for.

The alpha leaned forward and kissed Wonwoo again, just one more chaste press of lips. As he started to pull back, Wonwoo used a gentle hold on his face to stop him. The omega gently nosed along his cheek, then turned and rubbed their faces more firmly, scenting him and being scented in return. Wonwoo slowly traced over every line of his face with the tip of his nose, then his lips as he continued his quiet purring. Mingyu's presence made him feel so happy and safe. He couldn't remember the last time he'd actually purred, but it had been a very long time. He wanted to be closer, smell more of his scent, and feel his warmth against him again like he had the night before.

They didn't speak. They didn't need to as they slowly moved together, pressing lips and noses over each other's faces and necks. The gentle morning breeze carried the scent of the rain-washed earth over them in their perfect, calm moment in the early hours of the warm summer morning. Wonwoo inched forward slowly, hesitantly until he was in Mingyu's lap. He curled up there, turned to the side with his knees bent and feet resting on the swing, his head against Mingyu's shoulder and forehead pressed to the alpha's neck. Mingyu wrapped him up in his arms and started up his own deeper purr to go along with his as they just enjoyed the feeling of having someone close.

The slender body in Mingyu's arms was vibrating gently as he purred. He was so warm, so small and soft. In that moment he was devastated by the strength of his feelings for this omega. Wonwoo was always so strong and resilient. He was showing him his vulnerable, insecure side by letting himself be held and cradled against him, and symbolically protected. He was showing so much strength, to trust him and be so open. Finally, the wall between them had fallen and they could truly see each other, reach each other. The alpha could do nothing but hold Wonwoo there in his arms and smell his fresh green apple scent as he rocked them by pushing the swing with his foot against the porch.
