When Mingyu woke up, he was surprised to see light streaming in through the windows. How long had he slept? He couldn't believe he had slept an entire night. He looked over at the clock on his bedside to see that it was almost 10 am. He turned his head to the other side and saw that the bed was empty. His heart thumped at the lack of Wonwoo and he immediately sat up, getting out of bed swiftly and pulling on a pair of sweats before going to find his omega. The smell of coffee as he passed the kitchen was promising but Wonwoo wasn't there. He headed through the kennels and saw that none of the wolves were in there.
The porch swing was empty, but as he looked out into the yard, he saw another vision of his beautiful omega. It reminded him of the night he'd found him in the rain; another unexpected, yet ethereal picture that he would treasure forever. Wonwoo sat cross-legged in the middle of the yard and all around him his wolves were piled together like sleepy puppies. The omega cooed at them and took turns petting them. Piper was laid mostly in Wonwoo's lap, dominating the omega's space, an obvious claim to his master.
Mingyu watched this for several minutes, smiling at how Piper seemed to get jealous when Wonwoo gave too much attention to the other wolves without coming back to him. He'd let out his usual little whining huff and the omega would turn his attention back to his companion, making his tail wag with satisfaction. He seemed to think Wonwoo's attention should be solely on him, and Mingyu could relate. All the canines seemed to crave the blond's attention, and they turned their noses into his wrists as he reached toward them, snuffling at the omega's scent. The entire scene made his heart swell with love to the point that he felt like a tea kettle ready to whistle, so full of love he was about to explode.
He walked forward and all the wolves's heads perked up to look at him. Wonwoo seemed to hear or sense his approach because he turned his head to listen and smiled as he heard the alpha's footsteps. The omega gently pried Piper off of him and stood, turning toward him with a brilliant smile. He stepped forward toward him, and Mingyu could see that he was limping slightly. He felt bad for hurting him, but if Wonwoo's smile was anything to go by, his omega was okay with it. He caught the omega's searching hands in his own and guided them up to his face, where the soft fingers studied him with a feather-light touch, the grin widening until his teeth showed and his eyes disappeared into crescents.
"Good morning, my love. How did you sleep?" Wonwoo asked as he continued the exploration with his hands, now running through Mingyu's dark hair.
"I slept amazing thanks to you. But why didn't you wake me when you got up?"
The hands in his hair moved over the back of his head and down to the back of his neck, where Wonwoo held him, pulling him down into a quick, chaste kiss.
"You were sleeping so peacefully, and I know you don't usually sleep very well...so I let you rest. I let the wolves out and we've just been sitting out here enjoying the morning. You didn't miss out on anything."
Mingyu thought that sounded like he'd missed out on quite a lot. He'd missed out on seeing Wonwoo's post-sex messy morning hair and puffy face, as well as the opportunity to pull him back against his body again and push back inside him. He wanted to gently take him until they were both gasping and cumming in the early morning still and warmth of the bed. He knew he'd needed the sleep, he felt more well rested than he had in years and all he wanted to do with his energy was get back inside his omega again.
However, he just pulled Wonwoo against his body and held him there in a warm hug as the soft morning breeze tickled his skin. He was still just wearing sweatpants but it didn't matter, he owned several acres of land out here and had no close neighbors. Wonwoo's hands skimmed over his sides and paused as they came across the scars along his right side. He felt the soft fingertips gently trace over the raised skin and trace the contours. The nerves in the scarred flesh were damaged, so the touch was somewhere between a tickle and outright numbness.
