"Till when would I suppress my feelings for her?Every waking moment I think of her. It seems as if she has hijacked my mind. Her smile captivates me, making me feel out of the world whenever she looks at me with her eyes that brim with happiness almost most of the time."

Love confessions are not really easy especially when you had rejected the same girl three years ago. It was 7th or 8th February 2011, when she decided to say those words.

She and Satvik were walking towards class gossiping about Sandy. Satvik personally hated Sandy because of her excessive stupidity and her irritating nature.

After the half yearly examinations had got over, Satvik had decided to stay aloof and chose Anukriti as a partner. Anu knew when to remain silent and let him enjoy his personal space. Sandy was sitting in front of him and she started rambling about his and Anukriti's personal life which he didn't like. It was something which can trigger a kind of unimaginable fury in him. Anu knew this and she repeatedly tried to give signals to stop right there. Sandy diverted the topic but eventually it came about Satvik's financial background. This enraged Anu.

"Now she is crossing her limits. Back off bitch, otherwise you will be responsible for what I blurt out. Mother fuck you and your family status. You just can't say rubbish about anyone just because the person comes from a bourgeois family."

Satvik tried to avoid the conversation but Anu took stand for him. Sandy said, "My dad is the chairman of ICE College. He has recently done a business deal in Switzerland. Who are you in front of me? People like you are not at all worthy in my life", she said proudly, without realising how much she hurt Satvik.

Satvik's life had come to a standstill after he had got to know that his father had Parkinson's disease. His father was an army officer, who had to take retirement because of the disease. His mother had to start earning so that they could give him the best education. Anukriti had an idea of Satvik's family scenario, so she wanted to shut Sandy's mouth.

"So what can we do in it? We are not any income tax officers nor are we interested in your dad's expenditures and investments. Stop being so obsessed with yourself and your money."Anukriti said, exasperated by Sandy's bragging.

"You haven't earned anything. It's just that you were lucky to be born in a rich family", Satvik said, sounding a little disappointed and humiliated. Then with a bit of authority Anukriti said, "Why don't you talk about something sensible? Something which shows that you have brains."

Before Sandy could even think of answering, she continued, "When you try to show how superior you are by demeaning the other person, it proves that what I said earlier was right. You cannot show your importance by talking stupid. Get that thing straight into your head."
Sandy did not say anything but gave a menacing look which conveyed the message that she would regret how she had insulted her. With that Anukriti and Sandy had got up and parted ways.

After that for the whole year, Anu had to tackle the link up rumours with Satvik. Sandy was the one who started it, but eventually almost every person who met her asked her questions about her relationship with Satvik. This was becoming more and more irritating for her to answer them. She was baffled but her mind had given up and it was then she knew that she has fallen in love with him.

They had reached to their next class when she decided to say those words to him.
"I want to talk to you. Will you listen to me patiently? It may offend you", she said in a very serious and urgent tone.

"Yes dear. Speak up. You really look like a daily soap opera daughter in law about to reveal something grand. "

"I love you Satvik. I don't know whether you love me or even like me but the fact is that I have fallen in love with you. "

Silence was his immediate response. He was stunned. He tried to figure out what was happening but it seemed as if his senses did not work. After some moments of staring at each other, he said," If it is a joke or a stupid dare of truth and dare, please stop it. This is so shocking. "

"No it is not. Now please answer my question. Do you love me or not?" she retorted to hide her disappointment. Well she always used rudeness as a mask to hide her dejection.

"The answer is no. You know that at this age we are not mature enough to handle a relationship. Isn't the thing good in the present, why do you have to fuck it up with all this?", he said, giving her a serene look.
*******
They had been since then, best friends without even a trace of awkwardness. Those who knew this incident were really shocked at their wise reactions. Everything was going fine until this day............
