For a week Satvik thought hard about the complications of proposing Anu. But then he decided to do it. The most difficult part was to hatch a foolproof plan. Proposing her in school was a very risky idea. With rumours of their being in a relationship already afloat, this would add a whole can of petrol to the fire. So he ultimately decided that he would propose her in the morning at the park.
Anukriti was a fitness freak and so she came regularly to park for her morning jog. But she had stopped from a month ago. She said that she didn't feel like coming. Actually it was just a flimsy excuse to hide what was gnawing inside her.
Satvik called up Niya to get approval of his idea. Niya was not there, so her mother picked up the call at the fourth time.
"Hey Niya. Satvik here", Satvik said immediately as soon as the phone was picked up.
"Hello Satvik. Sorry but Niya has gone for her music classes. Call her at 7", her mother informed him.
"OK auntie. Please give her the message to call me back as soon as possible. Bye." Satvik said politely.
"I will surely do that. Bye Satvik," with that her mother cut the phone.
After that conversation Satvik got occupied in his studies. For around four hours he did not for even once remember about his phone call to Niya.

Niya had a lot of pending work to complete since music competitions were consuming her school time. She was a trained singer and was learning music since she was eight. Finally when she was free from the work, she surfed her cell and saw Satvik's missed call. She remembered her mother saying that Satvik called at 5:30 and had asked her to call him back.
At 10pm she called him up and first of all apologised for forgetting to call back sooner.
"I myself had forgotten about it. It's OK, "he said in an assuring voice.
"So you decided to do your part? Well done my champ," she joked.
"Yeah, seriously I am thinking of a plan and now the idea is to propose her at early morning in park. You know that she is a fitness freak", Satvik suggested.
"Nice idea dude. But please ask her to be there. You would be making a fool out of yourself if she doesn't come for her morning jog", she suggested.
"For the first time you are right. I see you have gained some sense in my company," he said jokingly.
"Boss is always right. OK bye and all the best", she wished him luck.
"Bye", he said.
With that he put down the receiver and checked his WhatsApp. Fortunately Anukriti was online. So he messaged her to return his Chemistry assignment. He said her to give it in park as he needed it to study for the class test. She said that she would come the following day.
"Part one of the mission completed. Now the part two, the complicated one starts", he thought.

It was a nice refreshing experience for her to go out and to enjoy the sunshine, to feel the cool breeze on her face, to listen to the chirping of birds. More than being a fitness freak, she was an ardent nature lover.
She had been waiting for Satvik for around 15 minutes but still there was no sign of him. So to teach him a lesson in punctuality, she decided to walk with the highest speed she could so that Satvik has to struggle to get to her. Exactly the same happened as she had predicted. Finally after struggling for a few minutes he was able to chase her.
Anu had got her hair short and it suited her, making her look younger than she already was. The haircut was complimenting with the pink sweatshirt and purple track pants she was wearing, She had recently lost a lot of weight and so the sweatshirt was a bit loose on her petite frame.
He looked at her with questioning eyes and then said,
"Hey Anu. Got a new haircut? It looks nice on you. "
"Thanks for the compliment Satvik. People never really encourage changes. If I will go with this haircut to school then most of the people would be like what has happened to you, you look so horrible and all that crap", she replied.
"I know that. By the way I needed to talk to you about something privately. So can you please proceed near the shack?" he asked nervously.
"Okay. You are seriously creating suspense", Anukriti said curiously.
The shack was at a great distance from the place they were sitting at that time. It was kind of a store room kind of a place, with no light except the sun rays coming from the hole at one of the walls.
"Now what has happened Satvik? Why did you bring me here?" she asked him like an eager child.
"I had to say something to you. "As he said this pangs of nervousness had taken over him. He had to do it. There was no backing out.
"Say it quickly."
With that he kneeled down on his knees. Anu was surprised and she smiled at him. He then resumed,
"I am in love with you Anu. You make me feel out of the world whenever I look at your eyes. You are seriously the most beautiful girl by heart I have ever known. Will you be my forever? I know I am bad at saying romantic things but still you can consider me. "
"Have you seriously gone mad Satvik? I mean who calls you early in the morning and says I am in love with you. You could have said that in school, even on phone." She then stopped for a while and said, "Well maybe, phone is a bit too much, but still, this is weird."
"We can discuss this later on. What's your answer? Yes or no?" he asked.
It was then the reality had struck her like a gusty wind. She had, at that point, no convincing answer. She did not want him to get depressed by knowing her truth. So she tried to evade his question.
"I wish Robert Downey Jr had proposed me like that", she said wistfully.
"Well he is not going to come here. So you can imagine me as your Robert Downey Jr', Satvik joked.
With that he moved forward and kissed her on lips, her cheeks and on the sensitive part below the ear. She was uncomfortable with the kiss and so as soon as he loosened his grip, she, with all her might, got out of his clutches and then slapped him on the face.
"Have you're gone mad? There is something called seeking approval of the girl before touching her, let alone kissing her", Anukriti was enraged.
Am I losing my mind? There is a bleak chance that she would accept me and that too I am killing by my actions.
"I could not control my pent up feelings and so I kissed you. I am really sorry for what I did', he apologised genuinely.
"This is like saying I could not control my wrath, and so I murdered you. This is no explanation for this thing", she replied sarcastically.
By that time, she looked at her watch. It was 6:00 am already and the school started from 7:30 am. So she ran from the place. He called out," Answer? "
"Time will tell", she replied in a hurry and then went off, leaving Satvik puzzled.
