Eztli woke up to the gentle purring of her cat, Metztli, at her bedside. The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow in her room. She stretched and yawned, feeling a sense of unease lingering in the air. Her mom's voice floated from the kitchen, the faint clatter of pans accompanying her words.

"Metztli, where were you disappearing to last night, huh?" Eztli murmured, scratching the silvery fur on the cat's head. Meztli blinked lazily, a cat-like smile playing on her face. After a quick breakfast with her mom, Metztli and Otli. Eztli gathered her school bag and said goodbye before heading out the door. Metztli followed her to the edge of the driveway before trotting back inside, leaving Eztli to walk alone to school.

Eztli made her way to building A, where she was supposed to meet her friends Peta, Rono, and konane. As she entered the classroom, she found Rono excitedly showing off his new camera, talking animatedly about the projects he planned to work on. After a day filled with classes and lectures, the group of friends decided to head to the school library to collaborate on their latest project.

As the hours ticked by, Eztli and her friends were talking to each other. Amidst hours of brainstorming and discussions, a snippet of conversation from a nearby group caught their attention. Their classmates were gossiping about Eluney and her friends that they were going to the haunted house to prove that the paranormal exist.

Eztli slid into a chair, joining the circle of whispered conversation. "I can't believe Eluney is actually going to that haunted house," she murmured, her eyes wide with disbelief. Peta raised an eyebrow, surprised by Eztli's sudden interest in the supernatural. "I didn't know you were into this kind of stuff," she remarked.

kōnane shivered, voicing the fear that lingered in all their minds. "Everything about that house scares me. What if something actually happens?"

Peta's tone turned serious. "We need to stop them before they end up in real danger. It could be more than just a spooky story."

Eztli nodded, her expression grave. "The mansion its dangerous. We can't let Eluney and her friends go there."

Curiosity sparked in Rono eyes. "Where is this house located?"

Eztli glanced around, lowering her voice as she recounted the chilling tale. "There's a mansion in the woods... It belonged to a wealthy family with a dark past."

Rono leaned in, intrigued. "What kind of dark past?"Eztli frowned, the story weighing heavy on her. "They amassed their fortune rather... strange ways. Over time, their daughter started acting strangely, talking to herself until one day—they all vanished without returning."

kōnane's eyes widened in disbelief. "Is this for real?"Eztli nodded solemnly. "I read about it in an article. People say the house still stands, unchanged since that fateful day."

kōnane's nervousness rose. "What's so eerie about this house?"Eztli leaned forward; her eyes serious. "Whispers, cries, and unexplained movements have been reported by anyone who ventured nearby. It's like the place is trapped in time, a relic of the family's dark secrets."

Peta's breath caught. "Do you know where it is?"Eztli smirked, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "As a matter of fact, I do want to go there but there are things I shouldn't do.

Peta said. "Can you describe how it looks?"Eztli gestured dramatically, painting a vivid picture with her words. "It's a decrepit mansion, shrouded in mystery and shadows. The perfect setting for paranormal activity."The group fell silent, the weight of their conversation settling around them like a heavy shroud. The library's quietness seemed denser now, filled with a mix of dread and thrill.

That evening, under the cover of darkness, Eztli led her friends through the winding paths of the forest until they reached the looming mansion. Moonlight filtered through the overgrown trees, casting eerie shadows on the crumbling walls.

As they stepped inside, the air grew thick with the scent of decay and old secrets. Whispers seemed to echo through the halls, and a chill settled in their bones. The group exchanged nervous glances, their bravado fading in the face of the unknown.
